  • Hope its ok for me to start the thread. I had a sleep earlier on which was so not a good idea (a glass of red wine im afraid) so I know I will be awake for some time.
Today I have a lot planned with dinner to cook for 6  and a very dirty house.
I think if i start on the house first and then make sure I have my food sorted for when the shops are open because I know I will be bound to have forgotten something:o

Does anyone have any nice ideas for a table - mine always looks a mish mash and I would like it to look nice.

oh and have lots of washing to do before Sunday too so id better try and get another hour or so sleep before I need to start.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend xx:j :A

    Hi All,
A late post for me today, probably too late for anyone to read it but never mind.
    I'm reading it! :j I'm reading it! :j

Thanks to all those bargains at Tesco (I forgot to mention that the £1.40 also included 2 cream horns and 2 custard tarts :D ) I've been cooking all evening. First did what I'd planned for this evening all along - whizzed up my last pack of reduced smoked salmon in a butter, cream and dill sauce and mixed with a whole pack of spaghetti (made 1 smallish portion for my dinner and four larger ones for the freezer) - then when I'd eaten and washed up from that, I de-fatted my bargain 20p pork steaks and made 2 portions of fusilli with sauce made from diced pork, green pepper, spring onion, peanut butter and milk. Had to improvise a bit because I haven't made that one for a while, couldn't find the cookbook, and I know the recipe's supposed to use yellow pepper but I had a green one in the fridge that would have started going mouldy by tomorrow.

Am going to have some explaining to do when housemate gets back from weekend break to find I have stuffed the freezer full again, just when I said I was clearing space :o

Now lying in bed propped up on pillows (nose is all stuffed up) with laptop on lap (where else :D ) and am just about to shut down and go to bed.

    Night night!

Blimey, I'm up at 5am and you still get in before me ;)

I had another coughing fit in the middle of the night so I decided that instead of lying in bed coughing all night I'd get up and have a coffee and then go back to bed. So that's what I'm doing now. Today I'm hoping to be able to relax and catch up on sleep. With the flu I had and then the bad cough I've been enduring for the last 2 weeks I've had hardly any sleep. I've had about 20 hours sleep in 2 weeks

  • Morning

Well. today is the day! Our Westie is going-we fully understand that its best for him and we will still be able to see him and he is going to a great place (think I'll go with him!). They are coming at about 10am to collect him. Its gonna be hard but necessary. This morning we are going to take loads of pics and recordings of him-so we dont forget him :D

Its been a real bad few days. DD's tortoise died yesterday too and she was very upset about that, so today after Westie has gone, we are going to take her to decide what little pet she would like next. She has said a gerbil/hamster but dont want it in the house-so will have to go in OH's office outside. I suggested goldfish-but she didnt seem to keen and replied with "whatever!" Also have a voucher for Tobys Carvery for £5 each so may have a treat and you can eat as much as you like-ideal for DD as she loves her roasties. Then come back and watch a film together.

2 washloads already done this morning and dried in TD. House is clean as cleaner came yesterday ;)

Anyways, hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day for all of us.

Take Care Everyone-think today is gonna be a rough day.

Bye Bye Jake(westie)-we love you and will never forget you-sorry for letting you down, but you will be happier where your going-we promise!

    Morning all :wave

Sorry you're having to say goodbye to you westie today, PP. I'm sure things will be Ok soon, when you know he's settled down.

Am just eating my HM toast and marmalade, then I'm going to get dressed, load my big pram into the car and deliver it. If I get there early enough, I will still have time to go shopping for an hour or so, as I have to be back by 12 as Mr TM has a prior engagement and can't take boys with him. So much for a day in town without the kids :)

I managed to do a good blitz on the house yesterday, but as usual ran out of time to do the kitchen floor, so will try to do that today. Have some washing to do and therefoe lots of ironing, of which I still have lots from lst weekend, so will try and break the back of that too.

Our friend is here (without wife this time) so I shall make something nice for tea - I'll wait for inspiration to strike as I'm on the M6 :D

Well, it's pouring down, I need to get on and sort this pram out.

    Have a good day:D

  • Good morning everyone,

Have a toothache today (in a tooth that I had a root canal done in about a year ago) and a pain in the left side of my abdomen  Oh well, still business as usual ;) .

Have to take DS1 swimming at 9.30am, but will hopefully get to leave the other 2 with DH and go on our own. DH has said he will make a big pot of bolognese sauce today so we can make spag bol and do a lasagne with the rest. Have had a very un-OS month and am feeling really deflated, must try harder from now. Our main overspend is always food

Miss Marple - good luck with the meal

Black-saturn - hope you sleep some more and feel better

Penny-pincher - sorry about your westie, hope the day goes ok

manic days and ticklemouse - have a good day

Washing on but out soon to my mums for a few hours while husband goes off to play at being Robing Hood. Since we have moved back in March he has taken up Archery. So every time my dad see him or me he starts singing either Robin Hood, Robin Hood riding through the glen or Ivanhoe :rotfl:

Been shopping to both Asda and Tescos this fair morning as they are just around the corner form each other. And I have to have Asda's value bran flakes as they are just so nice and so cheap.

Anyway in tescos only spent £10 ish as we had to get a couple of things that where on offer and an ink cartridge as need to print something our PDQ. And we got out of the till a voucher for £6 off a £30 spend :j . Even the woman on the till said that was a good one. And for us spending £30 should not be to difficult. umm I feel some treats like joints of meat or even turkey coming on. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone has a good day. Take care.

    Yours

  • Morning all:hello:

Typical Saturday planned today. Going off shopping later, DS1 needs some new slippers & we'll have a general browse! Hopefully won't SPEND too much!
Lots of cleaning/ironing/washing to do this weekend:eek:

Having a chinese takeaway tonight (yummy!!!!!!) Kids are going to have organic beef burgers/chips - well it is Saturday, and we don't want to go to McDonalds!!!!

Don't know what else we'll be doing, but I'm sure it'll be a busy & eventful weekend (DS1&2 will make sure of that!)

Hope everyone has a good weekend. ((Hugs)) to P-Pincher!!! It's a tough thing you're doing, but it sounds like a loving & responsible decision for your little Westie. Hope it goes OK!!!!

    Bye all:wave:
