    Morning everybody :hello::hello:

This thread was actually started yesterday (even though the site makes it look like it was started an hour after it really was). Is this a competition to see who can start it earliest? (I can kick off with tomorrow's now if you like :rotfl: )

And am pleased because last night's "using everything up risotto" was huge and made 5 portions - I'd accounted for 3 on the meal plan - though admittedly the fifth portion was only a little one cos I wasn't very hungry last night having eaten a large bar of Tesco's white chocolate :o So, one for last night, one for today, and three for the freezer.

It was yummy too. Packet of mini chicken fillets (reduced). Remains of a pack of value bacon misshapes. 2 red peppers. One large onion. 4 cloves of garlic. Six or seven mushrooms (bit past-it, half price at Tesco). Tin of chopped toms. Half a jar of pitted black olives. Mixed herbs. Black pepper. Last quarter or so of a bottle of cheap sherry that's been sitting in the cupboard for years. All the rice I had in the cupboard (about 14oz). Anyway, chopped everything up, fried the chicken, bacon, onion & garlic in the wok for a few mins then added everything else except for the rice. Meanwhile cooked the rice in large stockpot. Drained the rice and mixed everything together in the stockpot - YUM YUM!!!!!!

Today won't be very hands-on OS as I'm out tonight. But have brought 2 HM meals with me so I can have my own lunch AND eat dinner at my desk before I head out. The concert I'm going to this evening will have a free programme :j so only expenditure for rest of the day should be a pint of beer with friend after the concert. Or more likely two pints

I would love to get into working at our local radio stations, no aspirations of being on air though, I have a self inflicted lisp im quite conscious of. Damn tongue piercing. lol

Then you might have to get up at 4am though like scuzz and me

Does tongue piercing really give you a lisp? I'd better not have it done then! :)
    .
  • It doesnt give everyone a lisp but it did me as its rather near the end of my tongue. I mean its an inch long piece of metal. heh.

    I like early starts.

I made £40 on hair extensions lastnight so thats a nice little perk ready for christmas

If you like early starts, then you'll fit right in in radio land!!

Why not try production or being a "helper" in news, where you go out doing vox pops?

Production's fun, and I've heard well paid - might look to make a move in that direction myself as I'm not bad at it!

Morning all. I had a really good start to the day and had 5 boxes unpacked before 7.30. There are now two waiting to go down in the cellar and one to go into DD1's room. The school run shot me in the foot though as I didn't make it back until 10am due to 4 people wanting to chat to me on the way back, it should only be a 5 minute walk but it took me an hour!!

Now having a coffee to warm up before I venture down into the cellar with the spidey wideys :(

DD aged 11 has been sick in the night so is off school - other DD starts work in 2 hours and DH is varnishing the skirting boards but using the wrong stuff because he cannot be bothered to ask or to READ THE TIN!!!!!!!

Is now scrubbing the wrong stain OFF again and I am faffing about trying to make sure he finally uses the right stuff!

Hoped to get ironing done but cannot get the chance- also hoped to start wrapping Christmas presents and listing what I have but can do nothing with everyone crowding round me

Dinner tonight will be turkey mince with onions, carrots and sausages done in the slow cooker.

Anyone who does not fancy this can have the pasta I made last night!

Having a last minute working from home day today, as my meeting in Manchester has been cancelled, so I'm going to try & get a few jobs done along the way. I'm working from home tomorrow as well because my car is in for a service.
Our bed needs changing, but there's no chance of getting it out on the line today. It's grim.
OH is on a late shift today, he's currently at the gym, so there's just me for a dinner. I had a turkey stir fry last night & there's enough raw ingredients for the same tonight.
Made a start on my christmas shopping yesterday - Mum's dressing gown arrived from La Redoute, along with my Christmas party dress. Now I just need shoes to go with it!
