I am having an unexpected day at home because of childcare problems. All my kids are school age but I should have been on a course 8.30 til 4.30 and the afterschool club won't take my daughter today.
got up at 6.45 when it shoulda been 6.15 but still managed to sort a load of laundry, empty the dishwasher, boil my beans for todays casserole, do packed lunches and have a proper coffee b4 the kids surfaced.
I am really hacked off about the childcare situation but Im beginning to get the 'am i bothered' attitude! Remember 'anger is an energy' and all that! I am going to embrace the situation rather than try to fight it anymore. So Instead of learning how to get my website to be the bees knees I will be folding clothes, making a bean and veg casserole, hoovering, and admiring my new bathroom:)
Got some candy stripe flanelette sheets in the wash, think I will change the kids' sheets, not that they need it, but bcos I love these sheets! And they will be warmer. Have some self assembly stuff to do but I dont know if I'm in the mood - ikea bathroom shelf unit :rolleyes:Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

Hi all
I'm cold and tired, cos I've had insomnia for the past couple of nights but hey ho
Was up till gone 11 last night cutting in around the edges of the walls so I can emulsion today. What a pain blown vinyl is - takes aaaaages to do and after 2 1/2 hours I'd still only done half the roomIt's also very hard doing it under fairly poor artificial light - my eyes are all squonky today
I'm still going to crack on and roller the walls today as it will seem as if it's getting finished
I'll cut in the rest afterwards, and before the 2nd coat.
Made a milk loaf last night in BM - very nice. Just had it toasted for brekkie. Lunch will be whatever I grab from the fridge - eggs a la apple mint emulsion anyone?Tea will be pizzas so they can be eaten in the living room (6 kids again
)
Must go and put wet washing in TD and probably another load in WM. DW waiting for brekkie pots and will go on now. Everything else can wait.
jw - when I bought DS1 a tall bookcase from Ikea, it came with a safety strap, but a chest of drawers from there, on which all 3 drawers slide open and it falls on you (well, the kids) didn't have one, so I bought a set of 'kiddy' ones - they are adjustable for when you want to move the furniture and may be OK for your wardrobe.
Kiwi- I think as Xmas approaches, a lot of those points deals disappear. They'll be back in the new year.
CQ - thinking of you today, girl.
Off to wield my roller. Catch ya all later.

Morning!
DS1 puked after school last night (DS2 was sick on Fri) and so went to bed about 5pm cos he was so tired. He woke again in the night to be sick and also had a fever. Poor little DD, she was in her cot asleep and I heard a huge SCREAM, I ran in and she was being sick all over the place!! Anyway, got her back to sleep (in my bed) but all through the night I kept waking up with tummy cramps  Today, DS1 is off school, my friend kindly took DS2 in for me. I feel rough and to top it off DH has just come home from work as he is ill too!!
Dinner is chickpea curry (DH cooked it yesterday) but I don't think anyone will be eating any (is there an 'about to puke' smiley?)Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Morning all,
Am off sick today, My back has gone and I have a cold so it's a sneeze follwed by a scream of pain... Everytime I feel a cough or a sneeze coming I am making all sorts of funny breathing noises to stop it happening I must look.... ?!?!?!
I have kept the children off scchool today as I can not drive in this state I would crash and can not walk as to painfull so all in all not the best of days...
On the positive it looks lovely out of the window like a christmas card scene and the heating is on the house is lovely and warm and it gives me chance to catch up on MSE.
Have done my food shopping on line to be delivered in the morning and bagged 1000 tesco points.
Catch you later0 -
Everyone sounds really rough today, hugs to you all.
I managed to oversleep this morning as my alarm didn't go off, so I didn't get up until 7.30. I must pop off to the cycle shop in a minute to pick DS's bike up, yet another puncture
So cold here but beautifully sunny, the playground was like an ice rink this morning and the kids were falling down all over the place. It's going to be like a game of skittles at playtime
Managed to spend £80 in Boots yesterday but walked home with £272 worth of stuff so I was very happylots of christmas presents sorted in one go. Now totally skint but it's payday tomorrow. I also got a refund from Asda for the MP3 players that DH bought, I was not amused with him spending £40 on two 128MB ones when I could spend £49.99 in Argos and get one 512MB with a 128MB one thrown in free! I got to keep the weekly stamp for spending over £30 though so I was quite chuffed with that.

hi ,just wanted to say thanks to Tenuissent for the link to partners with AS.
i have a son with that and adhd and all 4 sons are dislexic.
i have thought for a while that hubby was AS as well and about 3 hours ago he had yet again done some thing to up set me and couldnt understand why!! and then i found that web site, wow
Ive had a bad day with a funeral of a fav uncle where hubby had been as perfect as he could be .
When we come home he only gose and phones some one we had passed in the car when out who he didnt wave too because we passed to quick to say hello .just to say hi ,sorry not for waving!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The problem is that this is a couple whom have seriously upset me with a letter and we havent spoken to for about 5/6 weeks (i left a voluntary committee /treasurely job i enjoyed because i couldnt cope with beening draged into arguements that had nothing to do with me)
now im not speaking to him but i dont think he has noticed yet.

Big hug to everyone having a bad day.
DH is still painting so I have used this as an excuse to spend all morning on the computer as i "do not want to get in his way" Boy am I considerate!;)
Breakfast was a sausage sandwich for us all.
Lunch might be something like poached egg on toast.
Dinner maybe home made pizza?
Need to look for cheap cds for DDs to give to DH and also decent waterproof shoes for DD - if anyone has any good ideas I would be grateful.
Have decided to see the funny side of having DH at home all day for 2 weeks. Either that or drive myself crazy lol."This site is addictive!"

Hi All,
Am frazzled, is that a word? Went to take DD1 topreschool and came home to find I had locked myself out, no keys,no phone, no purse. And a viewer due at 12.30 so no way of getting in to clean
Estate agent had my spare set so had to walk back to preschool, ask to use their phone and then ask, very nicely, if the EA would drop my keys round. He did, an HOUR LATER  Me and 2 kids out in artic temps for an hour and a messy house to clean. So I've been in for 40 mins and so far havetidied entire upstairs, inc bedmaking/changing, hoovered downstairs, sorted rubbish, cleaned bathroom, done washing up, put BM on and have now sat down for a coffee - PHEW.And I've not had brekkie yet.
Off to try and make the toys look tidy ndn hoover upstairs before leaving to get DD1 from preschool, with KEYS IN MY POCKET!!!WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
Hello everyone
Lovely sunny day here, washing out on line.
I have started so many jobs today & not got round to finishing them - yet!
D/w unloaded - but not put away
bathroom cleaning started - but I have an excuse for this one! shower drain is soaking in vinegar to remove limescale
bedroom dusted & vacuumed - got stuff to put away, though
washing pile sorted - but only some put away
I won't go on with the list!
why? have I started things & not finished them? I don't know
This afternoon is going to be a "finishing unfinished jobs" afternoon.0
