Ancasta - Couldn't you sell the excess on Ebay, maybe for a profit!?
Rzl - Your landlord will probably sell the house quickly if he sold it as it is. Three of my friends have just brought properties in the borough, all in serious need of refurbishment. They liked the idea of a bargain, and can still live with their parents while its all being done. But you aren't going to tell him that.
My mother came home with a slow cooker last night!!!!! It's an old Tower one with just high/low settings, picked up from a boot sale. She tried to cook split peas or chick peas (I wasn't paying attention) over night and complained that it was too slow.
I've persuaded her to put the joint of beef she was cooking for tea in the slow cooker. Any ideas of what to do with the stock afterwards?
I have this week off work, and am really happy because I can now have a play with it. :j
Off to the shops for cheap red wine and pearl barley.

If all does not go according to plan with boyfriend, plan B was to get my savings into double figures then stop bothering so much with them and rent a room a bit closer to Central London. That won't happen before the end of 2006 (unless I get a serious payrise!) but before it does, I'd like to get my stuff all sorted (especially my gigantic collection of opera programmes which I'm in the process of scanning into electronic format so they don't take up space I haven't got).Katgoddess wrote:Rzl - Your landlord will probably sell the house quickly if he sold it as it is. An old schoolfriend's partner used to live with his parents while he had a derelict house done up. He also had a project going on to do up a Triumph Spitfire (which at the time was languishing under a tarpaulin on his parents' driveway) and sell it on at a profit. "Doing stuff up" was clearly his main interest - and as he met my friend when she was a size 30 with no self esteem, and joined a gym with her and helped her get all slim and gorgeous and confident, it did make me wonder whether he was planning to sell HER on for a profit as well
Last time I looked my friend up on Friends Reunited she was complaining that she STILL didn't have a kitchen floor after three yearsOperation Get in Shape

Hello everyone :j
Well, the white stuff has just stopped falling, although it's not really stuck - which is a good thing because we live at the end of a private road, so no gritting and the entrance onto the main road is down a slope
Been to mum's and done her cleaning, quick nip into Tesco and have bought (hangs head in shame) chicken nuggets and pizzas. Well, I have 6 kids here for tea today and tomorrow, the dining room is still out of action so I need something they can eat fairly tidily and also something I don't have to prepare.
I'm so behind with this decorating malarky, the rest of the house looks like a bomb has dropped and I even forgot to take the loaf out of the BM yesterday. I heard it beep when I was painting the ceiling, then forgot until over 3 hours laterBit flat on top, but it's not too bad. Must put BM on again in a bit.
Must start the last of the glossing in a bit, if DS2 leaves me to itJust having a toasty and tea for lunch. Hope you all have a good a day as poss and hugs to those in need.

Hello everyone
((((hugs)))) to all poorly ones, all those having a bad day at work, or with the driving test blues, and anyone else who needs them.
I need to hug someone anyway, feeling yukky having spent most of the morning at the dentist, I had a crown which needed re- fixing as it was loose, and a tooth which had broken very badly and needed a huge filling.
I was up bright & early, done d/w, washing washed & hanging to dry in airing cupboard & been to help my sister deliver a fridge. The fridge belonged to my dd, it was only a year old & they bought it for the flat they were living in, but now they have a house they have space for a fridge/freezer, but as the fridge was so new, dd wondered if her brother would like it, as he is engaged. There was also a lovely little "butchers block" style cupboard, so I brought that home when I visited last week, & my sister - who has a bigger car than me (and I drive a discovery!!!) - brought the fridge home last night. So this morning we took it to my grandma's house, & put it in her garage, until ds should need it.
So I guess passing fridges round the family is a fairly OS thing to do!0 -
Hi All, :hello:
Its snowing! :j I was beginning to feel left out here in the Mids.
Dont think its sticking 'though.
DD1 (10) rang to say her netball after school is cancelled, and she was very excited about the snow. Doesn't look like snowman weather yet. :cool:0 -
:hello:
Hugs to all who need them!
I just seem to be shelling out at the moment - first it was the car tax and MOT, then my hair (keeping quiet about that one!) and now vets bill! Every month I say tomyself, next month will be better, but that certainly won't be true in December! Still, I will break open the piggy containing all my £2 coins soon - can't wait to see how much is in there - hoping for about £100, but i really don't have a clue. DH thinks it will be a lot less because he doesn't think 50 £2 would fit in the piggy. What he doesn't know is that I've been taking any £2 coins that he leaves in his pockets when I tidy up / do the washing!!!!
(It's not stealing - it's distribution of wealth!)
Best get on with ironing whilst DS2 has his nap.
Have a good day and keep warm.

Don't worry, I failed my mock, but passed the real thing. Just make sure you're ready before you go for it. Tests are expensive, so it's better to pay for the extra lessons to make sure you'll passComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
