I have noticed quite a few people warning that such and such a review has been copied from another site. I don't really visit many other review sites so I don't notice myself.

You don't need tooo. If you copy a line from the review into google it will come up with were it comes from. Something you learn to do frequently as a Guide!

I actually meant from other reviews on dooyoo. Not that i don't think people copy from other sites but I've noticed people copying reviews from other members, sometimes not even on the same category.
At first I assumed that if i noticed then someone with power (like a guide or dooyoo staff) would notice but I've started reporting everyone i find doing it.
I think the dooyoo people must be getting sick of me emailing them!

I reckon they'd prefer tonnes of emails, rather than be slated for allowing copied content to fill up their database.

They've removed the rating that the user gave me but seem to have done nothing about the copied review.

The search engine trick works, even if the review has also been posted on Dooyoo!

I'm glad to see you reporting stuff, Brooke. Sometimes I think everyone leaves it up to the Guides and then the guides get an unwarranted bad name as Dooyoo's lackeys, doing all their dirty work. I've seen some really weird, anti-Guide comments on quite a few reviews recently for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

Reporting stuff to Dooyoo is like rating low when required... if everyone does it, then the site becomes a better place. I know when I was a guide, I got annoyed because it seemed only I (and some of the other guides) was doing the "dirty work" and everyone else just didn't care (and some actively go out of their way to cause mischief IMO) while all the time, the reason I became a guide, to help people, seemed to be taking less and less of my time. I wouldn't have minded not being approached by any members had I known they were all doing their own bit in keeping the site "tidy".
  • dooyoo is really good, i did 4 days on there, doing about 4 reviews everyday, and i've earned £10 so far, which is great for me because i'm really opinionated on stuff like books films cds etc, and i love popular culture so it gives me a good outlet. I'm into one or two bands in anorak type way, so the reviews i've done for them have been well-received. ive got very useful or useful for all of my reviews. My tip is, if you put the work in and give it some thought and say write, 400 words on a subject close to you, you'll get more ratings in the long run and more miles than if you wrote some half arsed 151 worded review. Its worth a go!

  • Dooyoo have now published their site rules here: http://members.dooyoo.co.uk/community/dooyoo_siterules/

They're pretty self explanatory, but to summarise:

    1. - Don't copy
    2. - Make sure your premium reviews are of premium quality
    3. - Post each review only once
    4. - Rate honestly, and read before rating
    5. - Be helpful polite and friendly
