I don't think that there's any harm in returning rates as long as you rate honestly and I don't think that it's more valuable to rate something that you're itnerested in. It may be more valuable to you as an individual but for the site surely the important thing is that people are rating and that they're doing it honestly, not just giving everyone very usefuls or revenge rating.

I think the site relies on members to weed out poor or incorrect information as well as poor advice (on topics where adivce may be given) and often, I think, that can only be done by people with knowledge (or a desire for knowledge) on the topic at hand, rather than those randomly or semi-randomly around the site, or those returning reads. Yes, honesty in rating is important as is considerate rating, but I believe there are some topics out there that simply need people with an interest or knowledge of the topic to do the core reading to be able to spot poor advice/information.

Most people, for example, can spot spoilers in a film or book review and rate appropriately. I think it's a different matter in something like Health or Finance or perhaps the Electronics or Photography categories.

That's what I was trying to get at a few hundred posts ago.

• Are there any guides about?

Someone is churning out endless reviews on Dooyoo which are off topic, and they are also doling out endless "Not Useful" ratings to anyone who either views their profile or rates their reviews.

Now a "Not Useful" from this clown isn't really bothering me, and I have contacted Dooyoo to alert the abuse but there is now foul language on the Newest Reviews page from this person, which I would like to see dealt with sooner rather than later.

Thanks.
• I've informed Dooyoo via the Guide's forum.

It's OK. They've been reported. Dooyoo will act.

Suggest if you want to post an op at the moment you hold off just till they calm down!

If you come across abuse like this you can always PM dooyooteam (or email them at dooyooteam@dooyoo.co.uk).

Thanks for alerting us though!

I wonder if someone has hijacked their account, because there hadn't been any account use since Sept, until today.
Moving onto a better place...Ciao
