I was merely saying that it's nice if people rate something thats anything other than VU to state what they thought was lacking in it... Why? Because i may have missed out certain bits, like you pointed out in one of my reviews Mattygroves. It only helps improve my reviews when people give feedback. If I've exhausted all areas I can cover, then I wont update my review, but sometimes people have brain farts where they miss key bits of info out!
Sorry, I shall not rant in future!

Oh, I hope you do - for one, it's a good start to a discussion like this one - it's interesting to get differing points of view - I certainly hope you don't think I was getting at you
I don't comment on every review where I rate 'against the grain', because some people don't like the feedback, and get tetchy or even rude. However, if someone asks, I will happily reply. Having said that, there are obviously cases (like yours) where the reviewer clearly has worked on the review, and through clues (such as you saying 'please give feedback') welcomes feedback. It's horses for courses.
Anyone here is more than welcome to ask me anything - or to completely ignore me and my advice (sometimes, that may even be wise) - I try not to be prescriptive - just passing on my opinion.
So don't feel that I was having a go
Cheers

I love a good discussion.
I just didn't want to come across as a moany old fart who grumbles at a rating haha.
I didn't think you was getting at me at allI take all opinions/critisms/advice on board and digest it and hopefully, it makes me a better reviewer in the long run.
I appreciate it when people offer advice... so feel free to pass on more of your wise wordsMarch 2016 - Barclay Card: £7,213.820 -
Do they message you, or alert you? Or do you just see it on your list thing?0

I got a personal message from the Dooyoo team for my first crown, after that you can just see that the number of crowns on your account page has gone up. You also see that your Dooyoo miles have gone up too - as each crown brings an extra 1500 miles (£1.50) :j0 -
I wrrote my best ever review yesterday and hardly anyone has viewed it. It was also a product i suggested, which was promptly added. I guess some things don't interest people much (kids toys).
Hi BeenieCat, the best way of getting people to view/rate your reviews is to do the same. Most people on the site tend to return rate. So the more you give out the more you will get back. You can see who has rated your reviews by looking at the column on the left. If you read and rate their review, they will probably rate yours as well.
It also buids up trust and people will be more likely to read your reviews in future. Hope this helps :-)9 years and counting0 -

This is what happens a lot although I tend to just read as many reviews as I can on topics I am interested in. Otherwise I end up bored by someone who writes endless Lush reviews (some people may love this!).
Each to their own I say but as long as you rate at least as much as you read and leave meaningful rather than inane comments your readings will inevitably improve using either method.0 -

I Agree... as long as you do rate others, which ever way you do it then you should in tuen get more ratings back.

What can you do about a member that doesnt appear to understand that just because you disagree with a review that it should be marked at not useful. Surely anyone with any sense can see that the ratings are based on the content of the review from that persons experience, not whether or not you've had the same experienceMoving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0

Hmm I'm noticing lately out of 100 rates I've given over the last few days to well known members I've recieved around 20 back.... Hopefully everyone's just busy for new year etc...0
