Oh, they might be! haha.
I'm just going to carry on rating her reviews with an honest opinion, if she revenge rates again, ill report her to a guide...
I think I kinda know who you are, but I'm easy to find, I use the same name for everything!March 2016 - Barclay Card: £7,213.820 -
My suggestion isn't on yet, It's still in the queue, same number it was when I requested it!
There's a similar product on there, by the same company... the Biorb, but I'm writing about the Baby Biorb!March 2016 - Barclay Card: £7,213.820 -

I went onto new reviews, and found a couple of reviews by a member that I thought were lacking in content, so i rated them accordingly and left a constructive comment after rating each one, saying why i thought it wasnt up to scratch... And she [im guessing its a she] went and rated my reviews "usefull" when everyone else has rated them "very useful"...
I know its not a great difference, but come on... There's no need to be petty is there?
I put a lot of effort into my reviews, making sure to cover every point/aspect, and her reviews lack a lot of things, and to top it all, theyre very poor English, I could barely decifer any of them. Not to mention writing 14 reviews in the space of a couple of days... 11 of them today!
Urgh.
Hiya. I do realise it can seem frustrating when a member rates U in a sea of VUs - I even shamefully admit to knowing exactly how many Us I've accumulated over the years (I know I shouldn't, but there you go) but there are a few things I think it's worth remembering here:
1. A U is not a bad rate. It won't prevent you from getting a crown if the powers that be decide it is deserving. It won't stop other people from rating as they see fit;
2. You still get your 1.5p, regardless of the rate;
3. This is not necessarily a revenge rate - remember, each member will (or at least should) rate differently - some time ago a (sadly) now dormant member commented that she could not in good faith rate a hotel review VU if the review failed to mention whether the estabishment takes pets, as she never travels without her dogs. So (for example) a crowned hotel review, that had 70 VUs would get no more than a U from her, because the review is missing a key bit of information she needs to make a decision. It's not a bit of information I need, and probably not one that you need - therefore, you and I would rate differently.
Again, a U is not a bad rate, and I doubt Dooyoo would treat that as a revenge rate. And besides - it's really not that important - if you're satisified your reviews are helpful, and if other folk on Dooyoo are, what difference does it make what one person thinks?
Cheers

Camp_Freddy wrote: »Fair enough... but including that off-topic blurb in a review will not put off dedicated members if they are suspicious. As barongreenback says above, you have to treat reviews with a bit of scepticism, so having any kind of disclaimer means nothing until people verify the veracity of your claims for themselves then, as mattygroves says, the disclaimer itself becomes pointless because these people will end up trusting you... or not. You're not actually saving anyone any time and there have been plenty of copiers in the past that have tried to claim they write elsewhere.
I never actually said that if it's written in the review it means it's not copied!0 -

I know, I know, I was just venting my frustration.
I am satisfied, it was just a bit annoying thats all.
I guess I'm a lover of constructive critisism... If someone thinks my reviews are less than perfect [not that I think they ARE perfect], I'd just prefer them to leave a comment saying why it isn't up to scratch, so I can update it, and certainly so I can improve the quality of my reviews in future!March 2016 - Barclay Card: £7,213.820 -

I know. :rolleyes: You said that you would include your disclaimer as a means to save people some time. My counter-argument is that a) you don't save anyone any time as they'll still check if they're suspicious, b) once they have checked, then your disclaimer is a waste of time and, going back to my original argument, c) if it's not specifically to do with the review, state it elsewhere like your profile.
As a personal point of view, you're getting paid for these reviews, even if it is only a few pence. You least you can do is make them look professional. Keep on topic. Anything else can go in your profile. No disclaimers, no "thanks for reading, no off-topic community references etc.0 -

As long as you understand that there will be plenty of times where you can't update reviews to be VU across the board. People should rate on relevant information and if your review, for whatever reason, doesn't include information that a rater requires, they're allowed to rate as they see fit, within the rules. If, for example, you buy a PC and tell me how it performs with office work as that's all you use it for, I might SU it because I play games and watch DVDs on my PC too. I don't expect you to add information outside of your own experiences in order to try and squeeze a VU re-rate out of me.0 -

Just to add to this, if you try to include everything that everyone wants, you'll end up with review bloat. I know all about review bloat, as I suffered from it for some time. This is where you include absolutely everything possible - up to and including the bar code, and the exact dimensions of whatever it is you are reviewing. I've done it, I know.
I've gone back to the review and reviewer in question, and you're right - in this case, the member probably didn't even read the review. But it's a U in a small sea of VUs - it's probably not worth getting too upset about it.
Cheers!

Woah there, I wasn't saying for one minute that I should update a review because someone thinks ive missed something out... I was merely saying that it's nice if people rate something thats anything other than VU to state what they thought was lacking in it... Why? Because i may have missed out certain bits, like you pointed out in one of my reviews Mattygroves. It only helps improve my reviews when people give feedback. If I've exhausted all areas I can cover, then I wont update my review, but sometimes people have brain farts where they miss key bits of info out!
Sorry, I shall not rant in future!
