I just had a call from my PO Chappie. They're still trying to decide what to do with those of us without a policy number and it might be as late as next Tuesday or Wednesday before they decide and call us all.

So no dying over the weekend!!

Blimey, glad I called them about my missing plan number when I did as think I was the first. They must have thought I was a one-off hence them reprocessing the application and giving me a plan number. She promised that my policy was marked as £100 cashback after 3 months - just hope she wasn't fobbing me off. Guess I'll find out in 3 months time eh!

Mine tracked for the £43 with Quidco but came up without a policy number. They are saying for those without policy numbers who applied before 11.30am, they will let us know tonight or tomorrow, and nothing has been decided yet. Are they waiting to see how many people they can fob off with no cashback first ? Come on ! How long does it take to have a meeting and make a decision in PO HQ ?
I think the PO's comment about 'the quidco link is not sufficient as that shows when the application was submitted, not when it was recieved' is codswallop (spelling??). It's a get-out statement to save them paying out to those without policy numbers.
They are issuing policies and sending messages to clients saying "congratulations you are now covered" when you aren't ?? What bad publicity for them and how unprofessional if they don't honour those policies !!!

I totally agree! I am pretty sure that most people when presented with a screen that says "congratulations - you are now covered!" would think this means that....they are covered! As I explained to the PO, it is not as if we are even making a claim! How would this stand if a claim had been necessary? Thinking it was genuine cover could cause all sorts of problems. Personally, I am placing responsibility squarely at the hands of the PO...while I was quite calm about it, the fact that I have not got a call back today despite a promise that I would and still they have not made a decision on 30 cases, I have now got a bit annoyed...

    (sorry)

    Me too.

However, earlier this evening I received a telephone call saying that they would NOT, after all, be giving me the cashback -- because my telephone application had not been processed until after 12 noon. I asked to speak to a manager and gave the name of the woman who had promised me the cashback. A little later, a manager called: she had listened to the tape of my conversation and heard that I had been promised the money, and so confirmed that I would be getting it after all.

Now I feel sorry for them: and I do hope the pleasant woman who helped me will not get into trouble.

I can't believe I created all this fuss!!
I am really baffled that over 1,000 people applied for 11:30am on 7th August!

I've just checked my policy and I do have a policy number.

For everyone who has applied before 11:30am - they have stated the terms and conditions before you took out the policy. They are bound by those terms and conditions and they know this. They will payout.

I hope no-one needs to go as far as to involve the FSA in this one. If they do, please let me know

Oh heck, perhaps I should expect a phonecall too then. The girl I spoke to who promised me the cashback gave me her name too and told me to mention it if I had any problems, so I wouldn't worry too much Voyager ;), the c*ck up was definitely not attributable to the call centre employees in any event. They could only deal with it as best they could and the girl I spoke to kept putting me on hold to refer to her colleagues for guidance about what she should be telling me.

Im pretty good at putting complaints together, if it comes to that perhaps we could share thoughts. ;) When i phoned today i did suggest i emailed screen shots to them, i was told they not got that kind of email facility so i said that i could send it all in by "post" :rotfl: with a complaint, that was when the guy said that they hope to sort everything out to everybodys satisfaction. ;)

( Adding in reply to post by red, that was what i was thinking, put together a kind of template letter which everyone affected can use, ive found when ive done complaints is to ask as many questions of complaint as possible so that they cant answer the complaint fully, then the complaint can be pushed as far as it can go or the organisation settles up for a quiet life. )

i think we will have to wait until next week to find out what happens...i made a complaint to the fsa a little while ago and it was upheld and so i am aware of how they work. i think that if we do have a problem with our cashback offers we should maybe try to work as a group? if anyone is interested in doing so, post on here, or pm me and we can try to co-ordinate something!
