Do you really expect everyone to read thru 300+ post to see if someone answered their query?

The point is, the same query has been asked and answered several times, and more than one link to the T&C's has been posted.
• Hi. I have a couple of numbers scribbled down in front of me. Can somebody please confirm if one is in the format of a policy number? I can't remember!

X = Letter (a-z), 0 = number (0-9)

1) XX00000 - I believe this is the quote reference.
2) 0000000XX - I believe this is the actual policy number?

Thanks.

Broke Student vbmenu_register("postmenu_13164575", true); Mine is 7 numbers followed by 2 letters, so i would say the second one is correct.

Just spoke to Norwich Union via the free phone number on the confirmation page and was told they were definately honouring the original terms and conditions, i.e. £100 cashback after three months, for anybody who applied before 12:30pm on the 7th of August.

It was a nice young man named Paul who knew all about the problems and cashback so I tend to believe him. He also said he was waitng for the Post Office to sort out their I.T. problems with regards to the missing policy numbers

Of course this may all turn out to be untrue but that is the latest
Only time will tell if I am right or they are wrong

can't see NU taking the hit - the application pages ( as hosted by NU) don't mention the cashback .. its the pages hosted by PO that detail the cashback

I'm not saying I blame anyone for taking up this deal - I might have if I had seen it

Post Office is a brand of the Royal Mail Group

Royal Mail Group plc is a public limited company wholly owned by the Government.

so any C@*k- up is costing the taxpayer !! - There goes ML's :money: knighthood

• Just had phone confirmation again - to go along with what everyone else is saying - that cashback is being given for any applications completed (i.e., with a plan number) before 12.30pm yesterday.

If you don't have a plan number they have no way of knowing what time you did anything and I suggest a phone call is in order! Am now back to waiting on hearing back from PO Chappie - he says it is much quieter today so they are better able to help people today. I think they're looking at the anomalies on a case-by-case basis.

Apparently they had 1000 applications yesterday morning. :O

HTH!
Comper and general cheapskate :)

I just phoned the 0800 number again, the message is to be patient and that PO will do everything possible to sort things out to everybodys satisfaction. ;)
