yesterday in Tesco i spent about £25 (would have been about £30 but some items were reduced). i said to the SA that i had 7/8 bags and he acted very suprised. I asked him to take a look in the trolley and he admonished me for not filling the bags to the full. He said i only spent £25 so how come i needed so many bags. i was furious. it is as if he is calling me cheat. it is not coming out of his bl00dy pocket, is it?
that's a bit rich...I had my online shop delivered and I had ordered 1 pack of baby wipes and 1 pack of nappy sacks. They were both in separate bags.
Also Tesco carriers are so bad these days that if you fill them up the handles break. My bags for life used to last ages but I seem to be changing them far more often lately. I wonder if they are trying to get us all to buy the more expensive hessian ones.0 -
Dealt with? Being banned, quite likely a store will notice 'abuse' of the system, and ask Clubcard to have the card holder banned. Or Clubcard, may notice irregular activity and fine you - a large deduction of points.
CSDs adding points, is for people who have forgotten their clubcards, or lost them and just the had new ones. Probably because of people trawling (wombling) for receipts with unattached points, it's meant such adjustments are usually limited to two receipts.
I take it your not a fan of wombling no1catman.
By "dealt with" i meant what do they do? how do they find out ect? I know that theres a few people that are against wombling and its debated at great length in the wombling thread. Im just looking for advice on how to safely exploit the loophole without being banned from clubcard.0 -

It has been dealt with by restricting people to 2 receipts per day. Also if it is noticed that you have receipts very close together on different tills or if the receipts have different bank card details.
If CSD see you coming back time and time again they can log it and if they find out you have been wombling then kiss your clubcard goodbye, and possibly a ban from stores or a fraud charge. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

Wombling was a lot more common a few years ago, but people stopped as Tesco hugely cracked down on it, and they decided it wasn't worth loosing their clubcard over. If you are going to do it only ever use receipts that were paid for in cash, from days you didnt already use the clubcard - nothing more suspicious than doing two big shops in the same day. Personally I don't think its worth the risk.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -

Technically you are defrauding Tesco and therefore are open to prosecution. Although they are unlikely to bother taking it to court they are within their rights to cancel your clubcard and cancel any unused vouchers and points. I have 2yrs worth saved up and I wouldn't risk losing them for the sake of a few points stolen from someone else.0 -
I agree completely. I've only found out in the past few months that the tokens can be used elsewhere... in the past, I've had "La Tasca" vouchers or "Pizza Express" vouchers that I've ended up not using as I thought they had to be used at those specific restaurants, and I didn't get chance to use them before they expired. I've only recently learned that I could have a) used them for a number of different things, not just restaurants, and b) sent them back to have the points re-credited!!! Oh well, we live and learn. At least I know now!!!
I do think they should just issue reward vouchers though rather than leading you to think you are ordering a specific token.
nowhere are you led to think you are ordering a venue specific voucher. online you have full access to the T&C that state they can be used against other deals, and also in the literature that is sent with the deals vouchers on how they can be used, it again states they are not venue specific. how can tesco make it any any clearer?
as for the vouchers having to be venue specific at issue, i would say its just a marketing tool, so tesco and the companies who take part in the scheme can see what the correlation is between what people order, and then actually use the vouchers against. however alot of the newer participants in the scheme are opting for venue specific vouchers

Thats as may be but if you don't have time or don't think about reading the full T&C's , you would assume that when you order a Days Out voucher, it can only be used for that rather using it to buy a meal. But thanks for pointing it out.0 -

I am with you on this one.
I have just read the T&Cs in the feb 10 brochure and perhaps I am going mad but I can't find anything there thats says that reward tokens can be used for any reward.(perhaps someone could point me in the right direction)
I don't know if terms have changed in recent years but I once ordered some tokens and then could not get booked so they told me to return them they never said I could use them for anything else.0 -
I got hilton hotel vouchers but after realising it was too expensive i rang to see if i could send them back i was told if the voucher code begins with the same letter on the website u can use them for any that begin with that letter, (the ones i had began with s so i could use them for planet hollywood instead)  :dance:0
