  • Hi all

Purpleposting - Good luck in renting the house. I'm sure with the state of the market these days that she'd be silly not to consider your offer, which I think is good, especially offering six months upfront !!

Barneydee - Welcome to the post. I hope you manage to sort your Barclays account out asap!

tsharp - Well done on clearing two of your credit cards. I have cancelled all my store/ credit cards with nil balance on them , to stop the temptation of spending on them. I am also reducing my credit limits on c/c with balances on them and will continue to do this until cleared.

mumofcookers - Good luck with the no smoking as of next week. I'm sure with a lot of determination you'll succeed this time around.

As for me, am completely broke till next week. Have food and petrol so should be okay til then. And weather is supposed to be -5  this weekend, so can't see me going anywhere! Just 50p in the pot today!

Enjoy the rest of your day. x

  • Afternoon everyone.

Been feeling under the weather for the last couple of days, but have read through the masses of posts and glad everyone is doing so well, and there are so many PaD new faces.

Well I have paid £15.00 to next today which brings the total to under £450. Have also paid £9.50 to Capital One and £8.50 to Catalogue. I have now paid 14% of my total debt since starting PaD on 1st October, and my DFD is now down another month!

Have a great rest of the day everyone. Off to Morrisons to buy Kung Fu Panda for DS1's Christmas pressie later, but its so horrid out there I dont think I will venture anywhere else.

Decided not to go to town, the weathers been horrible today and its blummin freezin. Added 30p to my pot and paid £3 to my cc. Tried to pay some money to park hampers for next year (yes i know, i'm v prepared this year), but they declined my card:confused:, its my switch and has enough cash in the account so i'm hoping its a problem at there end.
I'll be able to claim around £30 commission from my cat soon too so might get my cc under £2000 yet;)

    Well done tsharp

  • Only £1 for me today unless something sells later on, have added it to my pot though cos every penny counts. I'm just debating whether to call about a nearly new sale that's on near me tmrw and see if they have space for me to sell there, not sure I have enough to sell to make it worthwhile though, hmmmm decisions.....

Another good day for me today.

Saved £5 on my tesco shop using the NOTW voucher from last sunday, also used £3 in luncheon Vouchers from P!necone, and had 25p cuppon to use as I had a tesco cupon for spending x amount on dairy and get 25p off. Savings in tesco £8.25. Then went to asda a picked up some pods for my Dulce Gusto using a cupon from their halloweeen mag and got them free saving £3.28. So total saving of £11.53.

Have put this as my PAD today as before I would have spent it somewhere else.

Total so far in 5 days for my PAD is £29.46 :T . Don't think I will keep that rate up but it's cool to be able to do any overpayments at all.

Well done to those of you making it below certain amounts and to those clearing their cards/overdrafts.
  • afternoon everyone!

good luck purpleposting & well done tsharp - lovely feeling, paying off cards!

i made my first decision of three today. i blagged a free day at a much cheaper gym with pool (will be 34 pounds a month instead of 94 for me and both kids!!) and had a lovely morning there. it's definitely nice enough for what we need and as i decided i don't want to give up swimming with the kids, just needed to find a cheaper option. so have cancelled my current gym/pool and managed to get the notice period reduced from 3 months to 2. so as of 1 february 2009, i will have an extra 60 pounds to save. :j

then went to asda, did quite well with my food budget (aimed for 30 pounds, spent 32 as didn't estimate price of fruit & veg quite right - the loose ones seemed a bit dearer today...) and spent a bit of december's money on two HUGE boxes of daz - 90 washes in each box for 7 pounds each! that should last us months and months.

sadly, then spent 10 pounds on wine. :o but overall, a very pleasing day!

hope everyone else enjoys their friday too. oh, nearly forgot - transferred a pound to savings, although i have in theory saved my gym money today, it's not actual money until february so i won't count it until then. x
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

  • WOOHOO! My road-tax rebate from my old car finally arrived today and it was £50! I had thought it was only £40 so I must have miscalculated by a month or something?? I haven't been able to bank it because it only came today but I am knocking it off my tally anyway!

I am also transferring £4.64 across, I bought some straighteners and had an old gift card with that amount left on it.

Oh and DH got paid £11.78 more than I had expected (he gets a profit share in his wage each month, which differs to I always just expect the basic) so that can go across too!
