purpleposting4 wrote: »Hi, welcome! I have recently paid off my Abbey overdraft and found that the best way was to save up £50 and then go into branch and ask them to lower the overdraft limit by £50. It keeps the bank happy bexause they can see you lowering your overdraft, so they don't bug you, as your overdraft lowers you pay less in interest and also then you know that you really can't spend it - if I had it available in another account I know I might be tempted. These days I am paying things off as soon as I get the money, before I can change my mind!
Thanks purpleposting4. That's a great idea but this account is an internet account and as far as I can see I can only change the od in increments of £500:eek: I have a new plan now which is to use another account (yes I have millions of them:o ) which is not overdrawn. I can pay my monthly "allowance" to myself in here. I will keep saving my payment a day money separately and as my benefits go into my overdrawn ac I hope to be able to leave this ac completely untouched until this is back in black. The benefits will greatly speed up this process:T I just need some major will power.
Today I have paid £1 into my jar:T I have also paid my Tesco cc monthly payment but I'm not counting these payments towards my payment a day. Hope this ramble makes sense to someone:cool:100 Day Pot £13

ok £1 today but it all adds up in the long run. Hopefully Sis coming to collect table and chairs so shall be able to pay £80 off tomorrow. That will then bring me back on track with Barclaycard and there will be no more charges, and the extra I pay off will actually be clearing the card.MAY NSD's

Paid £5 today :j
Almost had a fit when I saw my credit card balance - it had gone UP by £100 and I knew I hadn't been using it. Turns out some baddies have taken £105.52 from it through my paypal account!!!! Contacted paypal who are now investigating it, pretty sure I'll get it back. *fingers crossed its sorted soon*0 -
Hi all, hope you've been having a good week.
Paid my £5 towards homebase and barclaycard again yesterday and today, slipped a bit at the beginning of the week as some toe-rag tried nicking my car (it's a 17 year old Golf) but did so much damage that its an isurance write off. Great isn't it, try to get yourself sorted and then some idiot comes along and puts the kybosh on it for a while. Thankfully insured but who knows how long it'll take and how much I'll end up getting.
Oh well - these things are sent to try us!
Definitely earned drink at the end of work today! Have a great weekend to everyone :smileyhea
