  • No money now till pay day which luckily is Friday so I won't be making any payments till then. Still pleased I started this challenge though - it has made a difference and I shall be continuing..

  • I saw this thread and thought it tied in well with my quitting smoking.

So for each day I don't buy a packet of cigarettes, I will transfer £2.41 (price of 10) into my savings account over the internet. Then at the end of the month I will pay that total off my credit card :D

I didnt really want to ring my bank each day and ask them to pay that amount off my credit card and it will make me feel better to see about £70 per month extra going off my credit card :p

Sorry life's not so great Gilly, my thoughts are with you.

Now don't all send me begging mails, but I won the lottery at the weekend :j I have added 24p and paid £10.24 to my visa debt. Hoping this was a practice run for a bigger win...

    Hi Everyone

Thanks for the messages about MIL.

I have decided to follow her ethic and caught up on the Payment A Day

    £2.43 to 2 credit cards
£76.23 to another which brought it to £6499.99
£10 off buy now pay later account.

£12.02 due from Quidco at the end of the month so that is already set up to go to BNPL account.

And as not sure whether I will be able to get on line everyday have set up online payments for the two cards till 30/09 and £100 from pay to BNPL.

    Thanks again

    All the best
    Gilly
  • £2.50 transferred today, I cant believe how good I feel about doing this. Plus when they moan that I am late on payments I have a good arguement to show them how hard I have worked to clear it.
Taking some more photos tonight of ebay stuff and will get it all on this weekend with the profits going toward this card. Cant wait until I have caught up on where I should be with it, and see it cleared. Then I can talk to them about doing a 0% interest balance transfer to help clear some more bills.

It certainly makes our daily payments even more pressing _pale_

Thanks Hopeful1. I signed the petition. This would make unsecured loans a thing of the past.

Gilly - I hope you're ok. Sending big virtual (((hugs))) for you and your family.

Greenbynature - we had our electricity payments to Npower reduced by half earlier in the year but I know they are going to rise substantially again by more than they were reduced. I'm just grateful that one of our endowment policies has matured and the payments we were making to that should cover the increase. The lump sum will be going to pay off some of the mortgage which hopefully should lessen the impact of the rise in our mortgage payments.

Another £1 today into the ISA. I've just got my wage slip for tomorrow's pay and it looks good. So I'll be increasing my payments from tomorrow.

This is my 2nd post today but i'm so excited!!

Changed change jar. After doing a little shopping i had £16 left, so i've paid it into my account and just paid off hubby's orange bill - HURRAY :j

What's made it even better is that DLC have written demanding more than was initially outstanding and threatening all sorts. Suffice to say i've sent a suitable response ;)

In light of the imminent threat of unsecured debt being turned into secured, i will be working on my Barclays loan in earnest. I have no payment plan in place with this as i was disputing the PPI for ages, but FOS took their side

I shall revisit it at some point but have just been paying £25 per month in the meantime. But now with a payment a day, i will be increasing that.

    Let battle commence :D
One step at a time ;)
  • Afternoon all, haven't been around as have been poorly, but I am still making a payment a day, and so far have got £4 something in my piggy bank (which is actually a bird), I can't believe I'm looking forward to adding my total "payment a day" money onto my payment for Tesco cc next month - I'm really looking forward to seeing the amount go down each month:p . Keep up the good work everyone, I'm really inspired to get my debts down. Imagine not owing any money to anyone.................................:D
