I'm hoping I can upload the photo of the sock monkeys I made at Christmas for my grandchildren.
Yes it worked :T
They were made with fluffy socks which were quite difficult to sew as the fluff kept getting caught under the presser foot!
My two nieces now want one each;) They are 25 & 22 and want them to show off to their friends! :rotfl:I think I'll make them holding a chocolate egg for Easter :rotfl:0 -
This is the first fluffy one I made. It was for my grandaughter's 13th birthday last November. The little gold purse I found in a CS and it was just the right size for 'Star' to hold. She had a label with her name on - OK when I was just making the one, but there were too many others at Christmas to make each one a label0

This is a question to those of you who sell your monkeys. I was told today that there are strict rules and regulations about the change of use of a sock into a toy etc. by Trading standards. I know about the fire safety regs. and about the eyes and not being for children under 3 etc. but this is the first time I have been told there are restrictions about the change of use from a sock into something else. I am going to see if I can find more about it, but just wondered if anyone else had heard this.0

Not heard of that gemsmember, seems an odd rule. Unless they mean copyright Disney etc. No sock I have bought has got a copyright label on it. It would be like saying you cant re-cycle clothing; dress into an apron!
Nuttybabe what cute babies!
LV Sue Your monkeys looks so soft and cuddly. They are harder to sew as the fabric get caught under the sewing foot with me as well!
Here is Bananarama0 -
That sounds so silly to me. so if i buy a duvet cover, but decide i dont want to use it for the bed and i make a kiddies dress from it... I'm breaking the law.
And wouldnt that also apply to anything we tend to recycle. because we aren't going to do what the intended item was for.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
would mean i have been breaking the law in trading standards terms for the last 4 years0 -
I hadn't heard of it before either, but am going to check it out as the Sock monkey sales form a large part of my business so I have to be careful. I will report back with any findings.0
