Thanks LJM and Shelley. I think the small ones come out cuter than the big ones but they are so fiddly to do (and quite painfull !!! :P)

I know what you mean about the small ones being cute, I like making the little ones too - but the hat embroidery is the worst bit for me as the hats are so small, and their ears are fiddly.

Here's a couple with their bigger sister

  • I think it just depends on how they are stuffed. I know I put more stuffing in mine that others do, but I have never been able to stuff lightly and get a good shape, so I ram mine in until I can't get anymore, that is why my large monkeys take between 200-250gsm of stuffing. I know some of the others only use about 100 gsm so they are individual.

I am sure yours are fine. I think we all see things we like better in other peoples than our own.

they are great gemsmember. how do you do the writing on the hats? is it done by a sewing machine. my sewing machine has loads of settings. i dont know what any of them do!!! lol

i tend to over stuff mine as well. then pull the stuffing out and restuff and over stuff again and then kind of beat them into shape!!! :P the little ones are alot easier than the big ones. although i find different stuffing has different effects. the stuffing i used to use when i first started looked better not over stuffing whilst what i use now i have to.
  • I use an embroidery machine.
  • my latest makes :) clicky thumbnail (i think)
