  • wow pennib your tribe of little monkeys is amazing!!

here are a few I have made in the last couple of days - my cupboard is starting to resemble a zoo!! the little one is going to my sister as she is about to have a baby girl (won't let the baby play with it though, don't trust my sewing enough yet - it will just be something to keep in her room). the others should really be gifts but i like them so much i think i'll keep them :rotfl:

there are two links on photo bucket for the forums, one will give a full sized picture, the one below it is a clickable link. That is the one that I use as it gives a smaller picture

  • I know people just don't want to pay. I charge £10 and people have said I should charge more but how much more without them thinking it's too much??? I also include adoption certificates and hand made tags and fabric labels so I don't think it's unreasonable.

I charge between £10 and £12 for mine with personalised embroidered hats, adoption certificats and labels etc. I think the hat and labelling takes nearly as long as the monkey LOL!!. I do get told that I could charge more too, but there is a fine line between selling them and not selling them. I was charging £10, but have increased to £12 and they are still selling well, probably because of the personalisation. I do wonder who would pay £30 plus, but I know they do sell - I just wouldn't feel comfortable charging that much. I think there will always be people who will pay more thinking they are getting a better product, but that isn't always the case. They are made from the same socks and stuffing as the majority of people use. Then there are those that sell for 99p to £2 - the socks and stuffing must cost more than that, so I can only assume they are doing it purely as a hobby and don't worry about recouping their outlay. You just have to pick a price that you are comfortable with and stick with it.
