Gemsmember; Gosh that's a lot of monkey's....I have a sofa full at the moment as well!!
Will put a piccy up later.

Nuttybabe; Their little faces are very cute. Hope you are feeling better now.

Mummyslittleboy; I quite agree ya just can't share the socks, they are for the purpose that they wern't made for, monkeys!! Fancy your dd suggesting that they are for wearing!!!!!
  • Thanks Shelley! I just need to get hold of some wrap now. :)

Gemsmember - whoa! That's certainly a hoard! Good luck with selling them, although I'm sure you won't need it!

He is too cute Pennib :)

My lovely Mum came up this evening and sewed up a load of monkey skins with me bless her!!

My son has been invited to a triplets 6th Birthday party this week and asked me if I would make some monkeys for them. 2 boys and a girl - boys are under production but I've just made up Martha for the little girl .

Shelley 3774 - your sock monkeys are fantastic.
I'm new to sock monkeys and a bit confused with the instructions.
How do you use the toe for the mouth?Do you cut along the sewn part? Do you use a template?

Thank you :) I do my monkeys different to most and round the heads off - I don't use the toe part for the top of the head. Or you make the tail shorter and cut the toe part off from the second sock. I hope this makes sense I'm not very good at explaining :o:o
A lot of people prefer to use the heel as the mouth but it's just personal preference that I use the toe part.

I'm loving all the monkeys on here, I made some years ago but after seeing these I want to make some more! Has anyone seen any instructions on how to make a sock cat or mouse? Where do you buy your socks?
  • Hi,

I'm new to this but have been inspired by all your amazing creations and want to have a go myself!

In your expert opinions what are the best kind of socks to use? Normal length ones or knee high ones? I'm guessing they're going to give two totally different size/proportion monkeys. So...what do you use?!

    Thanks.
  • If you use normal ladies size, you will make a medium monkey. Kiddies socks make small ones and knee highs will make ones with REALLY long legs and a tail (If you use all the material that is!) xx
