  • I was really intrigued and inspired by this thread so I made my first sock monkey yesterday. I nipped to tesco for a pair of socks and when they scanned, they went through at 1p!!!

I'll try and post a pic shortly if I can prise it off my youngest son who has claimed it and named it Shaggy! (hope that's not a reflection on my sewing skills :o )
It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission ;)
  • Here is a quick pick of Dorothy & Otis cwtching on the sofa. They should be going to their adopted homes today :) I've had an order for another 5 too so will be spending the next week in full monkey production!

The aqua/lime monkey is lush, great colour combo.

Tranmere let us know what the socks look like so we can all go buy some up, take a pic if poss as it helps locate better with a visual.

Finished the big monkey last night & he looks better now complete but I need to work on sewing the gussted a bit better as I am laddering it whilst stuffing!

My big kilo bag of stuffing from Dunelm £5.99 is much nicer than the smaller 200g bag I got from Hobbycraft £3 odd so thanks for the heads up.
  • How did you find sewing on the arms this time Hogshead?

My Mum is a sewing machinist and I'm lucky she is able to get me huge bags of stuffing for trade price of £10. Lots of people recommend the dunelm stuffing so I may have a look and compare to see if it's better.

  • He's fantastic! What have you put on his wrist and how did you do the hair? :)

Thanks - he has a watch on his wrist, and the hair is made from wool.
