I also tries your method for the mouth gemsmember - not as neat as yours tho.
I leave a longer space between the little catch down threads and I only use one strand of thread for those, but yours looks OK, just a bit different.0 -
Can anyone give me any tips, I have just made my 2nd sock monkey but I still cannot stitch all the arms etc on very well, the body of the monkey is great I just can't make the arms tail ears and mouth look good.
Also how do you make the hands and feet so neat? mine just end up being flat and weird looking.
Thanks
I curve the ends of the hands and feet to make them look better.
Try using a striped socks to help with the positioning of ears arms and snout and pin first before sewing.
I sew the arms on a slight angle and position the ears just below the toe piece of the sock.
It's really just a case of trial and error.
Can you post a pic of the ones you've done?Jack of all trades ... Master of none
