This is the one for my grandson - hence felt eyes.
I also tries your method for the mouth gemsmember - not as neat as yours tho.

I have changed the eyes on this one and giver her a dress to make her more girly.

What is everyone's view on googly eyes which are stuck on? Are they safe for children?

Cuddles - they are so cute! i use those hair bands for skirts as well!!! i dont know about the stick on googly eyes but i do have the sew on ones and i do put them on sock monkeys although if i am making a monkey for a child (my own 3 have them) i use safety eyes.

Artydoll - if you are making a baby one then why not a pink nappy and pink bonnet with a pink dummy. you could even make a little crochet teddy for her to cuddle! or a little blankie.

    Thanks everyone.

I'm currently making a small pink monkey from some Disney child socks (2 pairs for 75p in Peacocks)
I have slightly gathered the muzzle, ears and tail and I think it looks quite pretty.
She doesn't have eyes or a mouth yet, and I'm not sure if I'll dress her or not as I may give her to a young child.

    Pics tomorrow.

I'm sure a giraffe would be possible using over the knee socks.

Can anyone give me any tips, I have just made my 2nd sock monkey but I still cannot stitch all the arms etc on very well, the body of the monkey is great I just can't make the arms tail ears and mouth look good.
Also how do you make the hands and feet so neat? mine just end up being flat and weird looking.
    Thanks
