Do you sew your mouth or use ribbon or pen?

Made a mess of the first one want to make no2 a little better,what do you use?
I could use pink ribbon and shape a pair of lips,or is that too ambitious,

I have sewn some and used pen on one.
Was thinking of using thin ribbon on the next one.

I have almost finished reading this whole thread, but I have one question I can't find the answer to.

How do people do the smile so straight and neat? I have tried a backstsitch, but can't get it right. One person in particular does mouths that look like a thin line of ribbon and is a bit shiny? Would love to know how its done.
