Thats a really good idea - turned out really well! Love the hat also, did you sew your knitted bit to the sock toe with a tassel?

    Another question.
Read about using a tube to turn and stuff arms and tails. Where on earth do you find a long narrow tube?

BTW - its gemsmembers mouths I love.

I have almost finished reading this whole thread, but I have one question I can't find the answer to.

How do people do the smile so straight and neat? I have tried a backstsitch, but can't get it right. One person in particular does mouths that look like a thin line of ribbon and is a bit shiny? Would love to know how its done.

Chatty they are brilliant! Did you also make the hearts?

Cuddles, when I do a mouth I take a full bit of embroidery thread and do one long stitch from one corner of the mouth (left to right) to the other and go back and do little stitches (top to bottom) to secure it in a shape.

I use a knitting needle to push stuffing down, but you need a hollow tube for turning?

Thanks for the compliments - those mouths are chain stitch. I am doing a different method now. Straight threads caught along the line with a little holding stitch. I have attached a photo, hopefully it will come through
