My latest - didn't like the metallic thread in the socks. Horrible to sew.

Tried a different mouth - not sure about it.
Also made him upside down and gathered the cuff to make the head so that the hearts were the right way up.
Makes his head a different shape, but works OK.

Have been shopping and have more socks. Also some eyes and fabric glue to try.
Camouflage boys socks reduced in Wilkos, so just had to get them.

nuttybabe its just as easy upside down. you can use the toe of the other sock as a template to mark around with a pen if your not sure of getting the shape right..

or another way is to make the monkey from a plain sock and use the patterned sock to dress it.. like the little monkey one i have shown a few posts back

Have just double sewn a camouflage monkey for my grandson.
Think I'll do felt eyes as he's only 2 and a half.

I just gathered the cuff of my sock, so he has a bit of a flat head.
