ha ha, i am the same. i have a bagfull and still want more!!! :rotfl: I will try ebay again, i only looked at prices for 1 pair!!! Thanks.

Only a bagful !! - you want to visit me - I currently have 5 crates full, but still don't always have what is requested. I must use up the ones I have and not keep buying more, but I am the same with fabric - got boxes and cupboards full of the stuff yet never seem to have the right colour etc. for the project I want to make

I only started making them at the end of november, give me a few more months and I will start catching you up!!! :rotfl:

Just a quick word of warning I have gotten a nasty virus today from Photobucket, if you are in photobucket and your PC appears to run a virus scan, its not real, dont click anything, I did..... my poor DH has to rebuild the PC and work will have to rebuild my poor laptop tomorrow

They are really easy to make. Here are the instructions that I use.

Up until 2 weeks ago I did all the sewing by hand but now I have a sewing machine and it is alot quicker!

Dont forget to post a pic when you have made your first one. :D

nutty babe, not read all the thread, but hoping to make a sock monkey. Have made rag dolls by hand as my machine doesn't cope well with stretchy material.

Can't decide whether to make by hand or have a go with the machine. Just wondered which you think is best?

personally now i have my sewing machine i think its great! really easy to do and cuts down the time making them by an evening!! its the arms, legs and tail i do on the machine everything else is still done by hand. i am a beginner at the machine (used my mums 20 years ago!) and I found it easy to do straight lines. i still do the rounded bits on the arms etc by hand!!!:rotfl:

I have just finished my first Sock Monkey.

Did it inside out as I preferred the inside of the socks. Managed to sew everything before doing any cutting, which I think is better.

Quite happy considering he's the first.
Will be doing another tomorrow I think.
