I don't like the knee high socks so much. I've started a new one with normal primark socks.
The lads at work thought this one looked a bit like an octopuss.craft craft craft!0 -

Feathered wool?! I've tried that, it looks so nice but it's a nightmare to use! You must have much more patience than me!
No, i am just useless at knitting and it hides any mistakes!! :rotfl: I will have to get some small knitting needles as the hat i made out of normal wool doesnt look right.
lellypants - I use the knee high socks but cut them down so they dont have really long legs (and can use the rest for other stuff like a stripy pink sock I am still using the off cuts for the mouths) although the one I am making for dh is a full sized one at his request so will have long legs and a massive tail - dreading sewing that one by hand!!!!0 -
hmmm that probably would have fixed it. Never mind.
I would hate to sew these things by hand- everyone on here who does them that way has my utter most respect- everything I sew by hand comes appart! I keep expecting the bits I have to sew on to fall off (like the arms, mouth, tail etc) lol.craft craft craft!0 -
i double stitch it all to make sure it doesnt come apart!! thats why they take me so long! I need a little sewing machine I think.0

a little tiny handheld one looks like a stapler, thought if it works it would be easy to transport to work etc to do at lunchtime, got it from ebay:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0 -
