I discovered this thread a couple of weeks ago and have been desperate to get started! I bought three pairs of socks on Christmas Eve whilst out picking up some last minute things and so, after all our visitors had gone on Boxing Day (and OH had gone to work), I got started! Have done little else since and now have three lovely sock monkeys with scarves and hats which all three DDs have claimed! Thank you so much for all the inspiration and, if I can get them back from my girls, will post a picture!0

Hiya all
Just a quick question. I am making a sock cat for a little girls birthday present and was wondering how you would do the whiskers. I am going to sew on the nose and mouth (and probably tounge) and was wondering if I should either have cotton coming out and hanging down or sewing lines or just leaving them out.
I am making it this evening so any quick answers would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks. I will sew them on. I did think they would just hang and look odd if put some on without sewing them! Thanks again.0

Hiya
Well, I tried the sock cat and half way through it looked like a rabbit so changed the tail into paws and the arms into ears and got some felt for the tail as the pom pom tail i did was way way way too big!!! Here is my sock bunny:
And here is my latest sock monkey.0 -
Do I need short socks, long socks or over the knee socks? I saw these being made on Blue Peter and since I am making hampers for everyone nexxt year thought it may be nice to add something a bit more personal. Not sure where in the 95 pages of posts I may find the answer hencing asking again!0
