    Hi

If I use over the knee socks I have to cut them down. I usually use the primark ladies socks size 4 - 7 that would probably go half way up your shin. Or the sock bunny is made out of girls socks ages 2-3.

Just experiment with different socks and see what works best for you.
  • nuttybabe - I love the sock bunny! and your sock monkey is great, I love the colours:T

thanks stardrops. i am really impressed with myself for the bunny (especially as he was by accident) and will be making them for easter presents rather than endless chocolate! i really do need to invest in a little sewing machine though! :P

Hi Happy New Year to you all!
I've had a couple of people asking if I'd make monkeys for them but I'm unsure what to charge...Do any of you sell them and if so do you mind saying how much for? I usually use ladies size 4-7 socks so a medium size monkey I guess... Thanks..

i think the general rule is 3 or 4 times the cost of your materials or work out your hourly rate then how long it took to make them.
The last craft fair I went to they were selling for around £12 each (which is about 12 times the material cost for mine)

I spent New Year's Eve reading this whole thread :o ( i find NYE very depressing ) and I couldn't wait to make a sock monkey!

So today I found a very old pair of socks to practise on and.... I love her!!

My 10 year old daughter has claimed her as they were her socks and has named her Daisy and my 13 year old son wants one now.

Thanks, that gives me a good guide, I wouldn't want to over charge anyone or find it's not worth my while!

ETA skinnygirlnot, that monkey is fab!
