ok so this thread is addictive- I spent the whole of Saturday reading all the threads and buying socks/stuffing and have spent this morning making my body and now I'm ready to stuff.
However- I read on one post about filling it with rice in the bum/legs- rice seems really big- did it work? Or did I read wrong and actually the person wanted advice- sorry i can't find it again in the 60 pages
I can't wait to dress her- it's like being 7 again!
thank you for the inspiration for a very cheap weekendIf you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Here is my first ever sock monkey... woooo!!
I'm so excited, I've just taken him downstairs to my partners pub and everyone loved him, hehe. I haven't named him yet but feel as though I should so now I have to think of a suitable name.
Thanks for the inspiration everyone. I will be making another monkey soonMay Wins: Annual Merlin Premium Pass, Annabel Karmel Bowl and Masher

Thanks Sharon. For the ears, I drew the ear shape on a bit of card and cut the ears around that to make them roughly the same size, hope this helps.May Wins: Annual Merlin Premium Pass, Annabel Karmel Bowl and Masher

Hi guys, I'm back LOL!
Been mad busy with baby Alex, but Gemma's picture on Facebook prompted me to post pictures of mine and well now a few of my family and friends need one too! Not sure where I will find time but here goes nothing!0 -

I am not sure how everyone does theirs but here is how I did mine.
I used embroidery thread. I tied a knot in the end and cut off the excess, this knot became one of the monkeys nostrils, then I sewed through the mouth to one of the corners of the mouth then around the outside of the monkey to the other end of the mouth, back through the inside and out again for the other nostril with another knot, again cutting off the excess thread.
To keep the mouth in position I used some thin black thread and sewed a couple of stitches through the embroidery thead.
I hope that makes sense, I haven't explained it too well.May Wins: Annual Merlin Premium Pass, Annabel Karmel Bowl and Masher
