Sock monkeys!

oh my goodness I have just stumbled across this forum and the monkeys are so so cute!! I really want to try and make one!! Are they very difficult?! I dont have a sewing machine so I am going to have to do it by hand. Will have a proper read through the site tomorrow but if someone could point me in the direction of some instructions would really appreciate it thanks in advance x

thanks stardrops. i think the 'outfit' is asda socks and the monkey is made from socks i got from a spanish market so i'm thinking that i should name her something spanish. how sad is it that i was on holiday and looking for socks for sock monkeys??

I'm going to Almeria in Spain at the beginning of May and I bet thats what I'll be doing as well:rotfl:

WAHAAAA! Just finished my very first sock monkey!He is very wonky and has odd ears and a crooked smile!!I pinched hubbys South Park socks-they have been sitting unused for years so why when he spotted what ld done did he suddenly want them-MEN!!!!
will take photo and try and put it on here-l am in love with him already!!!

i bought MORE socks today - what was i thinking? i have at least 40 pairs of socks already!!! these were stripey and sparkly ones from primark £2 for 6 pairs!!

phew finally got to the end of this fantastic thread!
i've been so inspired by all your amazing creations , that i've made my first 3 monkeys this week!!!
then today i went and bought loads more socks in peacocks i think i'm addicted already
i'll try and post pics tomorrow
