Sock monkeys!

OMG what have you done to me! I've just finished looking through this thread and think that all your sock monkeys are fantastic. I love them. I've just dug out on old pair of socks so i can practace making one. If all goes well i plan on making 4 of them, one for my little un, one for my friends little girl, one for my sis and friend to stick in their cars.
Cant wait to get started. Wish me luck, i'll need it.

Well this was my first attempt back in November:

I've made 5 so far and ive had 4 more family members ask for them so i'm going to be busy!

Here's a monkey I made tonight, thought I'd go for a different look with this one;) The hat is a big sort of sun hat, the next attempt at the hat will be better I hope:rotfl:

thanks stardrops your monkeys are ALWAYS fab i'm loving the new hat. i can only really do the 1 type of hat lol i'm putting all the new ones into a bix for christmas so there will be no mad rush this year. i have outsewn 16 monkeys so they only need to be sewn together and clothed. i also have 30 odd pairs of socks still waiting to be done. not sure what i'm going to do with the extras that are not needed for gifts tho

Thanks angelkay but I can't take credit for the hat as my lovely mam knits them all:D That hat was based on the red paddington bear hat (my mam was given a pattern) but its a bit big so she is knitting a slightly smaller version:D
