Yup, you can use manufaturers or brand vouchers even if you haven't purchased the item it's for, so long as they sell said item.

You can use one coupon per item bought, so if you buy 10 items (any items, this just means however many things are in your basket) you can only use 10 coupons. does that make sense? took me forever to explain that to hubby earlier :o

No limit on each company's vouchers, I used 5 innocent smoothie £2 vouchers with mine :D

Waitrose accept vouchers without buying the products as well as Tesco. BUT you need to check the policy at your local store because they all differ. My nearest Tesco will accept 10 different coupons regardless of how many items you buy.
My nearest Waitrose usually accept up to half the cost of the shopping but it depends who is on the checkout or is supervisor of the day!
I find I can save up about 30% on my shopping so well worth doing.

I seem to find ASDA are good at excepting coupons, they excepted 15 of mine the other day!
I know its kin of going off the point a little here, but is there any survey site's that you just do the survey and they send you the vouchers, not putting in any card details

    Thanks
    Sam

  • Like most people here, I only ever contact manufacturers or stores if I have a genuine problem.

Tesco's - rubbish - manager called me a liar but the Head Office made him refund my purchase anyway.

Nestle - didn't think it was their fault a bag of microwave rice was mouldy (blamed the supermarket) but they still sent me vouchers and a nice letter.

Burtons - apologised for wagon wheels not wrapped and stale - sent vouchers by return of post, along with perfectly presented and worded letter.

Mr Kipling - terrible - couldn't be bothered to finish the letter (just wrote Miss xxxx we pride ourselves on superior products and then letter went blank) - so I wrote back and said all I was trying to do was tell them there were no cherry pies in the box, just apple ones, and the least they could do was complete the letter. I got a proper apology and vouchers. But still no cherry pies!

Sainsburys - got chicken pieces which were very off replaced but nothing else.

Not even a reply from a company that did pretty patterned loo roll in Waitrose.

OH had a packet of rolling tobacco (yeuck) mainly cosisting of twig. Sent twigs to the company with barcode and they replaced the pack. Can't help wishing they'd sent him a packet of nicotine patches instead, but, hey, can't complain about their Customer Service...

Recently had box of waffles contain hundreds of tiny bits of waffle rather than the complete items, so I've written to Birds Eye letting them know there's a problem. They still tasted fine, just couldn't dump the fried egg on top of them!

And a pair of school shoes from Next have trashed about 20 pairs of school socks with blue dye coming out of the lining. Woman in shop told me that it happens with fat sweaty teenagers, hence their new ranges are bigger especially for the numbers of blobby kids. Letter to Head Office explained that child is tiny, only 9, not sweaty, her comments were entirely inappropriate and I was not at all happy. I await their reply.

Also noticed that Woolworths tend to add £1 - £2 on to most items at the till and if they are caught out by there being a price tag on the item, such as those on the household goods from time to time, they send a member of staff out to pick the price tags off rather than alter the price. Wondering if this a company policy as I am not impressed.

I always write letters. I use half decent paper, pens and use my best handwriting and grammar. I have no idea if it makes a difference to them but I feel better for it. I also always enclose the barcode and the offending item if it is lightweight and not perishable.

However, I think that if an organisation were to get tons of emails all saying the same thing, they would suspect that there are a lot of scam merchants trying their luck and nobody would benefit.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I only complain as well if I have to. Normally get a reply ok.
I bought mullerlights from Asda, but they have all puffed up like puffer fish! - EEK!! They still have about 10 days left before their expiry.
Store wont refund or change them, so have emailed muller via their site.

They have passed it to quality control and sent me £5 of vouchers!

  • First post....Just complained to Sainsbury's about my mushy strawberries (2 for £3) and they are sending me a £5 voucher.

Also, they are going to "investigate" why the pork pies from the Deli seemed a bit suspect last time. First time i've ever complained! I have never had problems with Sainsbury's before.

This does vary store to store BTW, and company to company. My local Asda takes £15 in any vouchers, and will accept more with a supervisor override. There is no minimum spend.
