  • Hi,

Sorry if i've posted this in the wrong place or haven't done it right, but I just had a quick question to see if anyone could suggest the best way to go about it.

Basically I had my daughters feet measured in Clarkes and the girl said they were a 5F, I then took her back and got them measured again as the shoes didn't seem right on her and was told she was barely a 4F. I then was pressurised into buying her another new pair which cost me £28.50 with the cleaning stuff they suggested I buy for them. I decided then that the shoes I bought weren't suitable and thought I would be able to get a refund as I had the receipt they were unworn and it was within 28 days as stated at their tills. When I tried to get my money back the shop assistant was very rude and said that they had been worn outside (which they hadn't) and refused to refund my money, another shop assistant then put my cleaning product back on the shelf and when I told her that that was mine and I had the receipt to prove it she accused me of being a thief until her manager came back and said yes it was mine gave it back and asked me to leave the store or security would be called.

I was just wondering if anyone thinks that I should take this further or just leave it. I am a young mum with MS and £28.50 is a lot of money to me and was just trying to do the right thing for my 15 month old daughter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, sorry if I sould like i've gone on it just really annoyed me today

    Thanks
I'm sorry hun, but that is DISGUSTING!!!! You should definately take this further, yes I sniggered a little, but after fully reading the whole story, I am shocked at how you were treated....Managers should know better! They need to be pulled up on this, i feel angry for you.....if you don't set an example, they will continue to treat people as they like.

You are a customer, making a purchase for your dd, it is very important that you get what you pay for...including the service they give you.

Be strong and make your points to them by email, post etc with firmness.

Don't be put off that the incident has passed!

Hope this helps and gives you the strength to TAKE EM ON!!!

    Hi everyone,
I was shopping in Asda a few weeks ago and couldn't find a product I was looking for, I went to the customer service desk to ask where I could find it. There was two women on the desk who were talking to each other (not work related), they was stood facing each other and I was stood infront of them waiting. They completely ignored me and then proceeded to turn their backs to me and carry of with their conversation.

I emailed Asda about this and this is the studid crap email I got back:

" Thank you for your email following your recent visit to our stores. I was most concerned to learn of the level of service you received from my colleagues at the store, and I hope you will accept our apologies for letting you down.

At ASDA, it is always our aim to provide an amazing level of service to all our customers, and I am very sorry that this has not been your experience. I agree that the level of service provided by my colleagues was, on this occasion, unacceptable.

It is important that we are aware of your experience in order to take the appropriate steps to prevent such situations from occurring again, but more importantly our store colleagues are informed of any problems whereby customers have contacted me because they are unhappy with the standard of service that has been provided.

I have now spoken to the manager of the store to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again."

I was hoping for a bit of compensation like a giftcard or something but it doesn't look like that will happen. To be honest I just think that's a template email they send to everyone and I'm not very happy. I was just so mad that they can treat customers like this!! Does anyone think I should email back and tell them their response isn't good enough???
    Thanks
  • Hi

I have been considering complaing to M&S so any tips on what to say would be appreciated.

I normally get a small pasta pot a few days each week for my lunch. Earlier on in the month I got my pasta pot as usual & was eating it at my desk at work, when I noticed what looked like a small wood chip on my fork!

Thankfully I noticed as it was indeed a small splinter of wood. It is quite sharp and would have reallly hurt if I had put it in my mouth!

I know things like this can happen but thats not the point - imagine if it had been a child eating it - they would defo have choked on it!

Is it worth my while to complain or am I being a nag?

Also I bought a pair of shoes from m&s for work back in August - wore them to & from work for approx 6 weeks when the toughened heel part wore of both shoes - I didn't complain because I didn't keep my receipt to prove how long I had been wearing them!!

    Thanks in advance xx

I wrote an email of compliant to Old Orleans resturant, I was waiting at the 'wait here to be served sign' for 12 mins and no one attended to me, the staff where hiding, and food was a disgrace, I got an email from head quarters and then from the branch it self, saying sorry, that was it, no incentive to go back nothing, so I wont!

I complained about the service at Old Orleans too. I got a letter back apologising and it said 'please find enclosed a voucher for £20'.

    No voucher enclosed
The only thing worse than smug married couple; lots of smug married couples.
  • I've been waiting over 2 weeks now for Starbucks; they sent a generic email saying someone would read it and get back to me. It's taking too long.

Hello, you should defo complain. I found a hair in a packet of their mini poppadums (kept it safe in my glasses case for weeks, while they tarted about with what they wanted to do) They then asked for me to send it to their head office...so I did via my local store.

I told the manager what it was and that it was his responsibility to make sure it got there safely! Took his name and was very firm with him.....

Took a little while but got a £20.00 voucher from them....but I also asked for a full report as to why this happened...they sent an overseas report to me!!GOOD!!
So my advice....go forth and don't let them dilly dally you on your way..Hope you have the evidence still.
