ChristopherBookworm wrote: »Oh i also had a nightmare with Virgin Trains. I went to get an advanced ticket (london to manchester) from the station (would have ordered online but i was there anyway) for getting the train a few weeks in advance. so i ask the man to chek what the cheapest fair i could get was. he just gave me the number ticket price and was rude about it when i said i only wanted a single as he'd gave me a return. He basically refused to change it saying "it's only £1 more" so for sake of my sanity i just paid it.
When i got back to my flat i went online to see if the cheap fares had all gone when as the night before there were severeal still available. getting online i find that theres not only tickets for 1/4 of what i paid but first class for about a third. So i sent them a letter of complaint after about 2 months i got a letter back basically saying that i was lying saying "there is no evidence that these ticket prices were still available" and fobbing me off with a £5 off voucher; considering i was over charged about £35 and the hassle of the matter seems a bit of afob off. I am going to get back to them; I screenshot'd the ticket prices so i have proof so the jokes on them.
sorry this is a bit long
Yes you definitely should, I have heard of so many people having problems with them since. I phoned to book mine because I was travelling alone with 3 children and wanted to make sure I had 4 seats together. When the tickets came the seats were nowhere near each other even though he had told me they were 4 seats round a table (what I requested) , he also told me under 5's travel free and refused to sell me a ticket even though I said I couldn't have my daughter on my knee for 5 hours. I eventually told him just to cancel it and he said it was too late it had already gone through. I had to wait 2 weeks on my refund (had to wait on tickets coming and then send them back when they probably hadn't even been printed yet) so I couldn't even book with another company. Needless to say I'll never use Virgin trains again.....apart from my free journey obviously0 -

A few months ago i bought some kettle chips in waitrose along with some other things, the shelf said they were buy one get one free which is the only reason i bought them, it wasn't until i got home that i looked at the receipt and realised i had been charged for both packets so i e-mailed waitrose and explained. They e-mailed back asking me to send the receipt number and they would look into it, i did that and a few days later i received a £5 voucher to cover the pack that should've been free and the extra for any inconvenience it may have caused! i would've been happy just getting the money back that i was overcharged so was very pleased with that! waitrose really went up in my estimation.

I complained to Bravissimo about a bra that basically fell apart after a month and they replaced for free. Apparently they guarantee all bras for six months - I wouldn't have known if I hadn't emailed. Not really a freebie, but it feels like one, because I was close to saying nothing, chucking the faulty bra in the bin and writing off the cost. Top marks for customer service - they were really helpful.0
