  • Wow, you may not have done much debt-busting today but you've certainly made some key decisions.

Not taking a holiday is a big decision to make, well done, hope it works out ok.

Well done on sticking to your diet.

Good luck to Jon looking for new jobs. Don't either of you do too much as your physical health is more important than your financial health.

Business is not going well this week. Don't know why as usually August is a good month. A bit worrying as don't know how we'll meet the bills this week. Personal side is OK just the business side. E-bay is doing OK but not quick enough to get money from Paypal in time for Wednesday when big supplier needs to be paid. Why is it that both sides can never do well together. One always has to be poor.

Im upset at making the decision on the holiday but luxuries will have to wait... if jon can increase his wage to the average 30 k a year maybe more for his professional knowlege we will have a surplus of 700-800 quid pm so we could wack that debt down like noones business hehe ..... thats made me perk up ... physical health is good thanx for the tip.... dieting makes shopping easy lol id normally splurge on ben and jerrys nearly 5 quid per 500ml pot worth the good taste but not my pocket i bought toilet roll at 38 p and its actually ok for what it does nearly 1.50 cheaper than the average stuff ..... all for the pocket the money box is filling up so when its full we can open it and send it to the bank...... hoping we hear news on teh overdraft that way we can wipe a credit card as it would be 0% for a year...... if we worked hard we could make some good use of the 0% overdraft hehe clear some of them high flying cards ..... anyway enough chatter must sleep got a busy day lol :P x

Not spending is almost as good as saving. (I think).

Had to spend today as needed new cat litter and having problems getting the online order delivered. Not having a car is a real pain sometimes. Poor cats were down to the last scoop so had to get more.

  • Better have the days than lose the money. You can budget it in I'm sure. You're doing well so you do deserve a treat. Just watch the food :P

I'm still planning on visiting my mother at the end of September although it's not cheap to get the train. I don't know yet how I'm paying for it but my brother is away to Australia with his family in October so I want to see them before they travel. Who knows when I'll get to see them again unless the new job doesn't work out. I know mum will pay for my fare if I ask her but I don't want to ask yet.

That means I'll be in Yorkshire soon. I love that neck of the woods. It's the only part of England that thinks it's Scotland and would probably be the first to demand independance if it ever came up. All my family are around there now so I can see the majority of them.

hi parsley, sorry to butt in, but you mentioned trains. if youre canny it can be fun looking around for bargains.

always book in advance and always book single fares.

    my history -
train from leeds to oxford £28 - yes £28 for 2 people
from oxford to leeds home £34 for 2 people
looked at the return fare £140 for 2 people as agianst £62 paid

oxford to london just for the day £8.00 for 2 people
    london to oxford £12.00
Booking on the day £20 each single and £20 each back again £40 return each £80 as against £20 paid

thanks for the space Amy and Jon - i am reading your diary and you are doing just great.
tell us where your going to and from and some of us will have a look for you if you like
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
