To make us feel better ive decided to let the loans pay themselves because they practically dont cost too much intrest and the large amount can be dealt with in myu head but on paper it scares the living daylights out of me sooo my focus is on the credit cards total amount... im going to devise a excell document that will work out the intrest for me haha each time i pay so i know just how much im paying on the damn debt hehe ok so as of the first soa... credit card debt is ... £ 20002.47 probably less now due to payments but i can deal with looking at that for now and deal with the bigger number myself te he i know its there but sometimes its no good having it in my face when i know it will take me a few years to do something about it hehe so im feeling pretty positive now and ready to get on my journey im getting the hang of using cheaper credit cards to pay higher credit cards save on the intrest te he he naughty i know hehe but if someone wants to charge me that much intrest they will be getting a good fight off the other credit cards hehe every little helps when it can :D Amy x

  • Sounds like a good plan amyandjon partciularly are you are trying to save for the wedding as well.

Its about whats working for you.

I know exactly how you are feel, I get days where I get completely fed up with it, but its gets better. Funnily I get less fed up now (nearly one year in) since its become a way of life.

Keep smiling and positive, you are not increasing your debt, and think of all the ways you can up your income, reduce your outgoing and spilt the rest between debt bashing and wedding saving.

:j Hello just had some toast at my mums feel better, mum was talking with me all my dads advice consists of is going bankrupt grrrrrr bloody man !! anyway she said next year she will have 2 grand on a credit card which is loan of balance and shed let me transfer funds to that which was nice ... jons got an offer back for bank charges way below what we thought it would be so im asking himto contest it since we went through a company eeeek ... im deffor looking at over a grand so hopefully if things speed up that could be on the door step before xmas a nice little something to add to the wedding saving i cant wait to get married then we can really work at it.... if jon hears about a job wage increase where we have a surplus of 800 we could save for wedding and have at least 400 extra for cards .... ive thought about clearing lowest cards first because its something to take off your list isnt it and you feel better... we have 7 cards so as they go down the better il feel i was talking to jon i was saying if we get offered lifetime of balance cards when we clear credit and leave them doormant if the intrest is cheaper than the loan intrest we can clear the loan again something to think about... i cant face postponing the wedding for another year ... we can do it do it do it :P thanks working hard youir too good :o

not involving any dmo or ccs or owt i want to protect what poor credit rating ive got

Hey, you do know dealing with the CCCS doesn't affect your credit rating right? They can just give you advice. Though it looks like you're doing pretty well so far on your own :)

I dealt with the CCCS last year when I was about to go on maternity leave and my SMP didn't even cover my debt repayments so they advised me on how to offer token payments to creditors and what the creditors might do about it. Some of them defaulted me so that affected my credit rating but that would have happened anyway, it wasn't due to speaking to the CCCS, so if you ever need advice or reassurance about anything financial don't be afraid of ringing them.

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Ive been popping here regular but I didnt realise you started your own diary, I tend to look at my subscribed threads and thought you hadnt posted as there were no new posts on your original thread!
I have got a diary/blog but its more about my journey with my OH as he is the hopeless spender, I am too but he influences me... diary is titled living with a hopeless spender, I need to update it a bit more often.
Your doing great girl, and I see youv joined the SW thread too.
I have opened an e-saver to pay my holiday off, I have looked at joining the thornbury nursing agency, we had someone from there working with us last night and she was being paid an absolute fortune with a quarter of the responsibility.Im part time so could do an extra shift a month, they pay travel expenses too.Id have to look at the tax situation though as I would be taxed as a second job.
Remember me if you win the lottery:beer: .Shal xx
