    Hello everybody!

I am looking for somebody to refer me to Family Mobile so we can both get 10 pounds.

Just send me a private mail with your Family Mobile number please!

    Thanks a lot,
    tobed

Only the referrer gets £10..... so unless someone is willing to split the £10 with you....

The cheapest option on a phone appears to be the Nokia 2310 on T mobile from CPW for £4.95 plus £10 top up.

If you use Quidco you'll get a fiver back on this deal.
If you go instore - they'll usually knock a tenner off for your old handset.

3 use O2 when out of 3G coverage.

Three used to use O2 as their 2g carrier, but it changed ages ago to Orange (much to my anger as I can't get an Orange signal in my house.

    Cheers, Des.

Asda Mobile seem a better deal.
    • When you buy your initial £10 topup with a sim pack - you get the sim card & £12 credit instore in total (£1 preloaded on the sim & £11 credit for £10 topups until end of August)
    • The call charges will be 8p & texts 4p from 1st September.
    • They run on Vodafone - which has much superior coverage to T-Mobile.
    • They have roaming without having to give credit/debit card details.
    • You can perform some basic functions for free like *#1345# for balance, *#147# for 1471 type function.

I doubt that there is much to choose between the two, coverage wise. You'll always get some areas that are better served by one than the other.

Most pay as you go tariffs will operate overseas, until your credit runs out of course.

All mobiles store 'caller ID' details.

Vodafone has much better coverage than T-Mobile.
I've the found major gaps in T-Mobile's coverage, in urban & rural areas. It seems to concur with what I have read on here.

To roam with Ikea mobile, you need to register a debit card on their "AutoTopup" service. Otherwise, the menu option to enable roaming on their online service does not appear.

*#147# works even if the phone has been switched off, out of coverage (and is free even when roaming). So it is superior to the phones internal memory, and not the same thing.

IKEA charge you 6p for getting your balance on your handset, ASDA provide it free via *#1345#

You'll always get personal preferences coming to the fore with different networks. In reality, there's nowt much between them nowadays.

Yes I accept that this is a valid point with IKEA. I don't think all service providers require this though.

I take your points on this one.

The only way you can top up on Ikea is by debit card.

Wow, nice to see Asda have come along and beat Ikea!

Not sure who remembers easyMobile... But easyMobile came along and 'Fresh' from the carphonewarehouse cut their prices, so did easyMobile.... then Fresh again. Fresh kept under cutting easyMobile.

easyMobile eventually went under... and ended up handing all of their customers over to Fresh!

I guess Ikea's mobile service may disappear just like easyMobile's did...

For now though, for low users, Asda is looking very good! .. From 1st Sept.
