Hi Silvercar I have today been onto the LEA and we are getting there, only thing left to sort is special support grant as my claim for IS looks like its going through and the LEA need this proof. I should get a letter from LEA next with with the award so far but it has gone up for sure and I am now getting the dependents grant and parents learning allowance, they still need to look at my childcare application tho.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

Still haven't heard. When I rang them up they weren't hugely helpful, but I think it may be worth another go.

It's not looking good for me getting the money by the start of term (27th Sept) is it?

I hadn't received my payment schedule yet, & someone in my class said they'd got theirs so I thought I'd better ring up & check.

I was told that I haven't applied this year.
I was totally shocked. Apparently they had sent me a letter in Feb telling me to ring them & get a form for this year. I did not get this letter, the only one I got was one asking if my bank details had changed. So I assumed all was fine & dandy & it'd all just be the same as last year (this works out as my fourth year at uni, & it used to be you'd automatically get the same unless your details changed, then you fill in the form). They said they've changed it this year. So now I might not get money for up to 8 weeks. I have rent to pay which really worries me, but luckily I've kept a bit of savings which should cover me until I get this money.

So if anyone hasn't received anything, ring them up ASAP & check what's going on.
