    Hi
I have only recently discovered MSE and this board, and am addicted!
Am married with 2 kids aged 3 and nearly 2, I work part time in IT, DH has his own business which is yet to take off so we are trying to cut spending where possible.
Have taken up Sept grocery challenge and decided to fully embrace the Breadmaker!
Thanks for all the great tips on here

  • Hope I'm doing this right! This is my first time ever posting on any discussion board, although I've lurked on several for years now, particularly fool.co.uk's "living below your means" board. Please forgive me if I do this wrong!

I'm 36 (37 the week after next) and work part time in admin for a small family run company. Most of the rest of my time is spent studying for a PhD, which obviously is exactly what I'm doing at the moment......

I live in Bath with my boyfriend, no kids. Any time that's not spent working or "studying" is usually taken up by knitting, sewing, cooking or ebay.

So glad to have (recently) discovered this board! Thanks to everyone who posts hints and tips - I've learnt so much from posters on various money saving boards over the years. I just hope I can give something back at some point.
  • I just thought I'd post to say hello to everyone :hello:

erm... well... I'm in my 30's - single, no children, I was working up until a couple of weeks ago and and am currently job-hunting again. Meanwhile, I've re-discovered 'proper' cooking! and housework! (I never knew it could be so much fun! well, sometimes, anyway...). This site has given me loads of inspiration lately, so thanks everyone for that :)

I hope noone minds if I ask the odd daft question now and then!

We are working our way through a loan we had to take out 2 years ago to pay off a debt, so lininv OS is essential.

    Hi everyone.

Carrie's the name. I'm 26, live in the North East on my lonesome although OH may be moving up from Sheffield in the new year. I'm working as a trainee quantity surveyor which involves a day-release degree, and also doing a degree with the Open Uni in my spare time.

In all the time I've lived by myself (7 years and counting) I've had problems with my finances so I'm desperately trying to be strict and get into good habits with money (thankfully OH is a tight-Yorkshire lad and is far more frugal than me so he's helping immensely too). Thankfully I have no debt anymore but struggle to keep my head above water most months so the OS board is fantastic for hints and tips for me.

    Thanks everyone (o:

Ooh been a money saver for a while, but not done much on the Old style board so HELLO!

I'm 26 living with my lovely boyfriend. I work in a bank, so I do try to help people on the site when I can. I am new to the banking world, having previously worked in a theme park. My OH is a mechanic at the same theme park, believe me it isn't as much fun as it sounds.

I'm trying to develop my O/S skills, stardrops and microfibre cloths are great.

I really look at the MSE way of life as a way to stop paying my mortgage quicker (29 years to go!) so I'll be here for a while!
Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.
