I'm 19, will be 20 in August, and am currently studying English with Arts and Media Management at uni in Sheffield. I also work part-time at a jewellery store in Meadowhell so spend a lot of my time there staring at all the pretty diamonds that I can't afford!! I currently live in a city centre flat with my boyfriend of 2 years (who works full-time doing the IT for a local company) and three other young-ish people who, despite being in their late-20's and early 30's seem unable to clean communal areas  .

Hopefully we'll be moving in two weeks' time to a little village a few miles out of the city in order to gain some peace and quiet [I'm not a typical student!!] I can't wait to move and be fully OS as I will have a freezer to myself in which to store all my HM meals etc and I'll be able to keep to my cleaning rota [OH has tried but cannot compete with my high standards!!]

No kids or pets but hoping to change this with the aquisition of a cat in the next year or so, and a kiddie in the next 5...

    Hello,

I'm an IT professional. Until recently my wife was a marketing PM. We just had our first baby (15 weeks ago) and decided we wanted him to have a full time mum so now we have only my salary and are coming to terms with the cuts that entails.

I'm 35 and my priorities for food shopping are:

    Environment
    Health
    Cost

    (I think)

    Hi

I usually hang out on the DT board but thought I'd branch out after 6 months with MSE.

Used to teach but now have taken early retirement - means I can support Penninewoman full-time now :) as she continues to teach.

Live in a ruggedly beautiful part of East Lancashire with two cats as well as Penninewoman.

    A fairly idyllic existence - almost. :D

Just waiting for Penninewoman to return home after an evening out with her colleagues.
    Where now?

    Hello everyone
I'd also been having a good look at everything on this fabulous website before I joined. I'm full time working, no childern or OH so only myself to care for, hope that doesn't last forever!! I live in deepest darkest Kent, which isn't the cheapest place to be, so old style is a godsend!!

    hello everyone:D

This is my first post to the forum. Am a mum to 3 boys, all grown and left the nest now. DH and myself live in Brisbane Australia, both working, (self employed) and I have no idea where the money goes these days. When the boys were growing up I was a single mum always saving pennies here and there, creatively making ends meet and breathing a sigh of relief when the bills got paid and everyone was fed, clothed and happy; it always gave me great satisfaction. For the past few years though we have just been letting money slip through our fingers and it's time to turn it around and bring back that sense of wellbeing created by doing for ourselves instead and saving. MSE forums are brilliant (especially OS:D ) OOHHH and I love the Christmas thread, I get so inspired:j

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, long time lurker turned new member:D
