Well hello ladies and gents.
I'm 24, got married last week to my DP of nearly 7 years, I work full time for Onetel/ (Car Phone Warehouse as it is now) as an admin and retentions adviser and DH works there too, no bairns yet so it's me the hubby and the dog.
I live in Stornoway, the back of beyond! I've been lurking about the site on and off for about 6months, and made my first steamed pudding in the microwaive last night from a recipe I found here and it was fantastic! I could babble for ages but I'll shut up and go back to reading all these fabulous threads!

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking on this site now for a couple of months and thought it was about time I joined in!
I'm 34, a civil servant, and live with my OH who is finding the amount of time I spend looking on this site very funny! It's normally him who hogs the computer but he has a fight on his hands now! No kids for me (although OH has a 6yr old daughter), but we have a 9 month old labrador pup who is gorgeous.
As I work full time I'm finding in difficult to keep up with all the posts on this site (is it just me?) but am doing my best as I absolutely love OS!

Hi everyone
My names Lyndsey and I am from the Nottinghamshire area.
I am 27 - 28 in August. I work for a large financial company as a PA to a Director and Senior management.
I live with my OH we have been together 10 years in September. We both share the same name except his is spelt slightly different.
OH has a son aged 12 who stays with us every weekend.
We have quite a large garden and inherited a greenhouse and 2 apple trees when we bought our place back in 2001 - we try to utilise the GH as much as possible.
We make our own apple wine each year and we also grow lots of chillies - we love our food hot and spicy!
I discovered MSE at the start of this year, I was off work for a whle after losing my Dear dad on Boxing day last year and needed something to help fill that lost void........
On the way to visiting Dad in the hospital/hospice we heard Martin on radio 2 so decided I must give the site a go!
I love Grabbit - Boots and Tesco misprices and competitions but my favourite has to be here on OS.
I have already learned so much and thought it was about time I introduced myself!
So this is me, great to read about so many of you and I am looking forward to sharing thoughts and ideas abut OS!
Take care

I work as an academic researcher, my OH of over 30 years works on a farm. I would love to retire, but I spent lots of time at home looking after my kids, (now 32, 30 and 23) when they were young, on OH's farm wages, which were at times lower than whatever the social was called then. Still not good, but I can earn a reasonable amount now. I need to, cos, though we have now paid off all the debts, we still live in a house tied to my OH's job, we always have. If he leaves/retires/gets made redundant, we have to get out. My ambition is to buy us a house to retire into, preferably without to much of a mortgage. My mum is 79, confused and diabetic, and 100 miles away which is also a problem.
We have done lots of OS/ self sufficiency stuff over the years, and still grow our own veg, cook our own food (at least I do, OH is a pretty naff cook) and keep poultry.
I am lucky to have such an interesting job, though it is quite stressful at times.0 -
Hi, I am a Londoner and have no debts, but have been fascinated by MSE since I first started to browse the site a few weeks ago. I decided to join today, or tonight even, because of the lively debates and very useful exchanges of information.
By following some of the suitable tips here and there, I reckon I can save myself about £500-600 a year.
Great to be here!ok, so i'm hot...

Hi, my name is Anne and I've been lurking for just over a month and have just started posting. I work as an administrator in a University. I am a single mum with a DD 24 and a DS 16. My DD lives with her DP and has a DS of 1, my first GS.
I love this site especially the OS and have become a Boots addict. Thanks to all the great posts.
I have always loved baking and this year I am trying to grow more of my own fruit and veg, infact that was how I found the site by googling growing in pots!!
Take care.0 -
Finally got round to introducing myself. Its great to see there is such an eclectic mix of people here!
My names Aimee (awkward spelling i blame the parents but i was born on bastille day hence it being french spelling) and I'm 23.
I am currently doing a PhD (6 months left!) full time whilst also working as a PT lifeguard, PT Swimming teacher and PT Pool Manager. After 2 years i retired as Student Union President 2 days ago. I also babysit in the odd evening i have off! I also joined the Army in the Officer Training Corps (TA for those at Uni) and have had great fun seeing the world and trying all sorts of activities I would have never tried, such as white water rafting, climbing etc.
I live with my partner of 6 years who is also doing a PhD, we met at uni, and our other housemate.
We have a mat cat called Mitze who rules the house, 2 rats (who the cat is scared of!) a guinea pig and some fish.
In my spare time (not that theres too much of that) i love swimming, horseriding (im soooo lucky as our next door neighbour has a horse which i help exercise for free!) and going out for walks in the fab countryside where we live.
Im quite money savy and have managed time as a student paying my way and not geting into debt (apart from the enevitable min student loan) but am loving the ideas here!0 -
