I never know what is interesting to put on these theads.
My son is about to turn 18.
I have been married 24 years - longer than a sentence!
My career path includes sales, admin, counselling, complimentary therapies and training.
Currently taking it easy after doing up the house and a major op.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
I spent my teenage years ignoring my mum and now wish I'd taken her advice on board years ago. She was brought up in the war and had the OS habit. I rebelled against chores and cooking but now I'm glad I learned to cook at 11 and clean at 10! She taught me loads but I'm only just coming to terms with that. Her biggest tip was 'everything in moderation' - wow how long did it take me to accept that!!
I run my own business (but if possible only work when my boy is at school) - am married with a 9yr old and a stroppy dog. I'm older than I feel! Sporty and up for a challenge - wish I was 17 again.
Slightly obsessive compulsive! Vegan with gluten allergy. Have travelled extensively and can't wait to do so again.
Used to lack confidence then I realised that life was too short!!

Hi, I'm a SAHM to 2 boys aged 6 & 10. I've worked parttime since the boys were born but 18 months ago decided to give up completely apart from a couple of hours a week for a friend. As the boys got older I seemed to need more time at home, plus we do alot of entertaining at home with prof thriftmonster's job (yes, honestly he is) He's also away a lot with work so I function as a sort of single parent part of the time.
Anyway academic salaries are not all you might think they would be, and I'm a natural OSer, although am learning heaps from here. We have no debt apart from the mortgage and hope to pay that off by Dec 07 in 12 yrs 9 months instead of the original 25yrs - it's amazing how the overpayments mount up. After that it's savings to put the boys through uni and hopefully some extra years on DH's pension.
I love this site and it's great to know I'm not the only person in Tesco with a list and a calculator!!“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Hi everyone
I'm new to the site and have to say that I'm totally addicted. I look forward to logging on as soon as the kids go to school in the morning.
I'm 40 and married with kids of 12 and 13. My OH is retired and I was a civil servant until last year when I had to retire due to illness. OS is great for helping me think much more carefully about saving and how to turn around my whole spending trend - I need to live within our new income and try and plan for the future now that I'm not paying into a pension fund any more.
I'm hooked - and look forward to learning from you all. Maybe some day I'll be in a position to pass on advice of my own.

Hi everyone- I'm a full-time mum to two 10yrs and 7yrs, though partner always make me feel like i've got three. At uni full-time ( in fact should be studying as I type), work about 20-25hrs a wk. though since we've just bought our first home I've become hooked on this site and though partner says its been costing use money, as have bought as slow cooker. He has not seen how it has saved use money as this has allowed me to cook thing from scratch.
:iloveyou: I love this site and browsing all the chat forums.
Thanks to you all for making it such a welcoming and intresting place placeGC: £400/ £00 -

I am also self employed working as a mystery shopper I also do accounts from home late at night but haven't done much since 1) finding the os section of the site and 2) the tax returns deadline had gone lol. I think I've always been an os at heart, I love cooking from scratch but haven't always had the time. Hello everyone I am a 45 year old divorced Mum of two girls aged 8 and 15. Until 31 December 05 I had worked in the Civil Service for 20+ years but got made redundant! I am currently enjoying the luxury of being at home with my Daughters but having no income means that I am living off my redundancy money and so trying to do as much OS moneysaving as I can. I am really enjoying making food from scratch and meal planning and am now thinking of buying myself a wally trolley and planting some veggies in the back garden. My 15 year old thinks I have gone nuts and says that she will disown me if I appear in public with a shopping trolley and does not like all the HM food but my 8 year old is finding it fun! I expect I will have to find a job soon but I love being at home with the girls and realise that I must have missed out on so much working full time all those years.Jane
