I'm a 19 year old maths student living in London. I'm a lactose intolerant, bargain hunting, fashion loving health freak! And my stash of frozen home made goodies is evidence of my long time lurking here :p I'm always eating some odd concoction, and am currently perfecting a vegan chocolate fondant cake(so far it costs 1.30 for 4 servings but I need to record measurements properly!). I try to buy fair trade products, recycle and make the most of charity shops and my sewing kit.

It's all going to change in two weeks time when I move back to my parents' in Birmingham to work full time at the Tax Office for three months. The main objective is to replenish some savings (2.5k min) and 400 to fund my holiday in September.
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

    Hi

I've been lurking for a while and decided to join. I am a sahm with 5 children ranging from 7 months to 10 years. I am 30 and live with my husband who works fulltime. I am especially keen to save money on our food shopping as that is a big cost for us each month. Until now I've been a fan of doing a weekly menu plan and shopping with a list but find that's not really working for us anymore - it doesn't really encourage the use of leftovers and can make shopping more expensive as you're shopping for set things rather that being open to genuine bargains.

My new plan is to stock up on store cupboard items monthly online then add to them with a weekly top up of seasonal fruit and veg and allowing myself to stock up on bargains on other things too, when I see them. I am also planning on doing more batch cooking and freezing as our falldown is those nights when I've had a challenging day with the kids, DH has had a challenging day at work and neither of us can be bothered to cook the "planned" meal so we end up in the chippy, cancelling out all our hardwork!! I also want to get ideas for after school snacks as the older kids come in from school and raid the cupboards - I would like to have some home baked treats rather than the usual packets of crap we have in there at the moment!

I have been reading the threads on here and feel very inspired so far!!

  • Hi :hello:

I've been reading the forums for a little while but have only today registered so I can be part of them and this is my first ever post!!

So a little about me... I'm 27 years old, and married my wonderful husband (33 but 34 on Sunday!) in August of last year. We have no children at present but its something we want in the future.

We both work full time and my husband is the co-director of his own company.

I have joined MSE as whist we are fortunate enough to have a good joint income we don't manage it very well and I am looking for help and advice with managing our money so that it works for us rather then the other way round!

Its nice to meet you all!!

Hi I have just joined last month and am spending so much time on here already! I am married with three sons 15,14 and 4 years old. I work part time as a Civil Servant. I want to save up and get some improvements done to our house this year, already in the process of doing our kitchen! I want to try and tighten our food budget as we are spending far too much.

Hi all, i haven't actually introduced myself on here, yet i'm always on the flylady thread, darn piggers making me clean :mad:lol

I'm 27 years old, currently a stay at home mum, with a partner of nearly 11 years, still  at how long weve been together. He's currently in the last few months of training to be a plumber, fingers crossed all will go well. We have two gorgeous hyperactive boys aged 9 and 6 yrs, as well as 2 nutball psychopathic cats.

I used to attend uni, but since i lost my funding been trying to save money, sort out finances and applying for lots of jobs. Slowly chipping away at debt :T and tryig to reduce our outcomes as much as possible.

Nice to meet you all x
