Yes Zoeys, I managed to get DtD without any hassle, so it makes me mad when I hear that other people have problems getting it, especially for a genuine misprice!

I used to just notice things on my receipts when I would get home- but of course there's nothing I can do about it then as I live 35 miles away from our supermarket. But now I don't leave the store without scrutinizing my receipt on the way out :rotfl:
Just goes to show that Tesco's don't follow a set policy (if one at all, I think many people would agree!)

I really hope you get what you are due Zoeys- keep us posted!

Hi I just wanted some advice. Tesco have a promotion on Innocent smoothies was £2.84 now £2.00. I purchased the Strawberry & banana & was charged £2.84. When I asked cs to check she said that it was not in the offer even though it was on the everything £2 shelf. I am confused as looked at Tesco.com who have also put it in the special offer section but are also charging £2.84. Can they do this?
As Tescos have displayed a misleading price indication and then charged you the higher price they have committed an offence.

You have the option of discussing this with the store who may offer you a financial incentive to overlook their offence.

Alternatively you can report the incident to Trading Standards.

Its important to realise that Trading Standards are 'intelligence led'. This means that they rely on consumers reporting offences to them. The more reports made the more likely it is that an investigation/prosecution will be made.

    No complaints = No action

Since they've offered you no financial incentive the best course of action is to report the store to Trading Standards.

I went to tesco today and in the aisle with leftover christmas biscuits etc there were Green and Blacks chocolate cookbooks with a big sign saying free when you buy 2 x 100g green and blacks. Bought one and instead of the £14 odd being taken off total it was £3 something, went to customer services and was given the £14 odd price of the book back. I did ask if it should be double the difference (i.e £22 ish) but she said no, full cost of book back plus the £3 odd refunded on reciept? there was no sign up with policy and woman was quite rude so I didn't argue. However she hasn't written anythng on my reciept to say she has refunded me.

It doesn't qualify as a DTD as it wasn't strictly a mis-price, you were simply charged for the book by mistake and they rectified it.

what was the £3 something reduction for? I wondered if the offer had been set up incorrectly and it refunded the chocolate instead but was not the right amount?

That's not correct. The advertised offer was for a free book if you bought the chocolates. If the chocolates were £1 each and the book £10 and you were charged £12, I'd expect £20 back, as I'd have been overcharged by £10. The sign says "if you are charged more than the price on the shelf or on the product etc" - the OP was charged more than the price on the shelf!

OP - you could try calling HO and tell them your issue, they might make the store give you DtD. And I'd exercise your right to return the book within 28 days too.

Girl behind him in queue at customer services also getting a refund on the book so he said to her to make sure she got dtd too

It is actually a very good book, i'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes.

    Accidental DTD today :)

Picked up two frozen salmon sides, £4 yellow big label on the shelf, went through the checkout at £6. CS checked the label, expired offer, apologised and gave me DTD of £8.

So two nice salmon sides for £4 in total - I will enjoy those!
