Is it best to use a self-service checkout to check the price or just not to bother and go through the normal checkout and voiding whatever appears at the right price?
There's not really a discreet way of doing it but as long as the cs desk is not right by the tills they probably won't know if you've had items voided if you've changed your mind.;)0 -

I dont have a self scanner in my store so generally just go to the checkout the furthest away and ask them to check the price for me as I couldnt see a price on the shelf - if it scans at the higher price I say thanks I will have that ( they dont know that I am only buying it because it is more expensive than it should be;) ) and if it scans at the lower price I just say Can I leave it please. They never bother ( however I have only ever had 2 DTD, so someone else might be better to advise!!)0 -
i have noticed in tescos that certain sections sel's always expire on the same date, for example the (printer or phones?) sels were all 31/12/08
i was thinking it would be really handy if people could post on here when certain sections sel's are expiring??
hope this makes senses, is it a good idea??
im popping over in morning and would've been handy knowing if any sections sels had expired
Great idea, alot of electricals are finishing on 20th January. Although my store are really hot on their prices, not much DTD to be had there.“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”:D0 -

Is it worth starting a new thread for this to keep it seperate from genuine mis-prices. A lot of offers seem to get extended, but the OOD labels are left.
It would free up this thread for mis-prices which are becoming few and far between. I'd start one myself but I've yet to find a mis-price in my local Tesco.
Another quick point while I'm posting - I've just discovered my local Tesco (Extra) has a second scanner in the clothing section. So if you're using a bigger store it might be worth having a look. I wish I'd known about it a couple of weeks ago when the other scanner wasn't working.0 -

While I can understand the idea and in theory it is good, however I wouldnt recommend it, simply because as soon as that list is posted on here Tesco staff will print it out and go around and correct everything.
I've seen it before during the height of my R&R career, several Tescos I used to frequent had people walking around with a printed screenshot of MSE with all the misprices on.
If we are doing their job for them, we might as well get the benefit from it by NOT sharing all the information with them.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
The printer SEL was 39.99 scanned at 79.98 and the baby born SEL was 17.49 scanned at 34.99. This was in Tesco Extra, Shirley, yeasterday :j0

Princes Tuna In Brine triple pack:
SEL stated £1.99 instead of £3.99 for some weird reason scanned at £4.25!!!
Therefore received DTD of £4.52 so paid 27p to take away 3 cans of Tuna
Here is what seems to be the lowdown on the Tuna. Princes Tuna CHUNKs in brine triple pack are going through at 'HALF PRICE' £1.99 per pack. However, Tuna STEAKS in brine are going through at £4.25.
The packaging is pretty much identical, so easy to mix up. Found this out with genuine attempt to pick up the DTD. Picked up the STEAKS not knowing they were STEAKS not chunks and got DTD so got paid 26p each pack to take them away (thanks helpdesk  ). Tried in another store and were told it is the CHUNKS on offer and they go through at £1.99. So if you are able to pull the wooly stuff over the CS eyes you can get DTD, but they don't have to give DTD if you have picked up the wrong product that is on offer!I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.
