Bulls Bridge Tesco.
Lots of kids back packs on offers. Picked a flower garden one with detachable sandwich bag - big yellow sign saying £4.
Paid for item and it came up as £7. Back to bags and checked with staff that the yellow sign was for that bag, he said yes.
Go to customer services who took the bag from me and went to refund me the £7. Tell her no, still want bag so she gives me £3 back. Point out Double the difference policy and get £6 back.
First time I have ever been overcharged so very happy that I got paid £2 to take the bag away!Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

Sorry to burst your bubble abit but if you paid £7 and got £6 Dtd back then you actually paid £1 for the bag. Still a bargain though!0 -

Not sure if this post is in the right place (apologies if not!)
Lowestoft Tesco
Mens black £25 suit...£10 comes off at the till (no signs up for discount)
So a suit for £15...Bargain!
Also, 20% off the mens shoes I bought did not come off at the till, so went to c/service. They gave me double the difference without me even asking! Hence £15 pair of shoes for £9...Excellent.0 -

Yes correct place and good find0 -
The £15 suit is planned (as opposed to a misprice)

I think this is in the right place:
The Orange Box for the PC in King's Meadow Tesco in Reading is stickered as £25 but went through for £15. The boyfriend was a happy chappie that day.Dry January: 31/31 days. :T0 -
Hi - I hope you'll forgive a question from a relative newbie to the whole DD thing (not sure where else to post questions).
I am thinking of going to our 24 hour Tesco just after midnight on the day that one of the Champagne offers expires, hoping that they might not have cleared the label on the shelf, and that I can therefore get some of the Champagne on offer.
I'm presuming that if the till shows the original (full) price, I need to pay the bill and get my receipt befre I can query the price and ask for double the difference as a refund ? Only thing is, I'm not sure what happens if the Customer Service desk is closed (as it would be at that time of night).
Anyone tried this ?
Thank you0 -
I think if you read some of the previous threads it has been noted that Mr Ts computers update in the early hours so just after midnight the till may well still charge the cheaper price.
Yes you need to pay and then query the price and difficult when cs desk closed you would need a dm and keep the evidence... but this may well raise your profile with a dm... not goodBit of a Florida Fan :j

But yes this is a good time to do it as night shift are supposed to remove OOD SELs. If you get lucky, pay for the items, then start walking out and casually glence at the reciept. Then stop and examine closely. Then go back to the person on selfscan and say "I think I may have been overcharged on these xxx." I always use the word OVERCHARGED. They will probably call in a duty manager who will check the descrepancy.
Once confirmed they may be able to adjust there and then. They could ask if you can come back in the morning but just say you work funny hours and this is the only time that you can come shopping. If they still refuse to do it and insist you return when customer services are open ploitely request that a note is made - most customer services desks have a diary or memo book. Also as for a photocopy of the SEL in case the original gets lost overnight or take a picture with your phone.I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.
