Slightly off-topic but I noticed they had some "invertatations" for sale. Would spelling mistakes help or hinder the DtD policy?

just went into my local and saw the Technika MC-407dab DAB at 49.97, i thought was good price, but noticed another sel next to do it saying 39.97 (ran out yesterday) got charged the 49.97 so £20 back .
    A nice DAB radio for £29.97 :T :T

Spotted this one today too; scanned at 49.97 too.

If R&R was alive I'd have been like a rat up a drainpipe.

But to pay £30 for something I don't need, just left it.

I know this is not a misprice as such. I went to buy an electrical product with a SEL directly behind it that said £34.95 and got charged £49.99. I bounded over to CS and explained. The CS person went to have a look, 10 minutes later he came back and said to me, the SEL is not for the product you purchased, but I can reduce the price for you so it costs you £34.95. Would I still be eligible to throw up a fuss and say I want DTD? At the end of the day, it's not my fault the SEL was not for the correct product. The item I purchased did not have a corresponding SEL anywhere on the shelf as I went to check up on it later. Should I call the CLUBCARD helpline and explain what happened tomorrow or will that be too late? Thanks in advance.
If the SEL is for a Phillips 430 Wotnot £34.95 and on the shelf is a Phillips 540 Wotnot for £49.99 and you get charged £49.99, then Tesco has not overcharged you for the 540 model. This is because they have not advertised the price of the 540, therefore impossible for you to be overcharged. Misleading maybe but human error can opccur and sometimes people take the SEL for products as they have no paper and pen to make a note of product details.

Tesco do not have to offer the 540 at the 430 price so take the offer with a smile, but definately not DTD.

  • Was in Tesco's today getting some T-shirts for my two girls (5 mths and 4 yrs old) - they are doing an offer on some of their basic T-shirts which have big round green & black stickers "Buy One Get One Free" plastered all over them. Bought 1 @ £2.00 and another at £1.50. The cheaper one didn't go through free, so went to CS. The lady there said the T-shirts needed to be the same price for the offer to work, so went back upstairs and got another one at £1.50 and another at £2.00. She then refunded the original ones, then tried to put them all through in a new transaction, but the offer still didnt work. She got all embarrased, mumbled that she wished she hadn't told me to go and get more, and then had to give me back DTD, so ended up getting the 4 T-shirts for nothing!!!

If tesco's were running an offer say up to the 12th of august, but when i went in on the 13th of august the edge of shelf ticket with the offer was still there can you still claim the product at the offer price?

If offer price does not come up at till you will get DTD back, so if £40 item reduced to £30 on OOD SEL (Out of Date SEL) you should get back £20. It does not matter if it is OOD. The Tesco Promise makes no provision for OOD offers.

The best OOD SEL's to find are the HALF PRICE offers. £30 reduced to £15 on OOD SEL means you pay £30 and get back £30.:T

Not exciting, but I buy it anyway.

Orbit complete 3-pack sel 99p charged £1.32. This was in the confectionary aisle, but I noticed varying prices for these at the end of each aisle.
  • i got one bottle of brown and one ketchup yesterday said bogof on an end all together.

didnt come off q'd a customer services lady tried it on her till should have been bogof when buy 2 the same as sel also seperate for each one.

she said it should be displayed like that and gave me double the difference so got £1.96 back (free sauce for me!!)
