  • Why has the thread been moved to Gone anyway? A lot of these recently discussed items are still in stock?

Talking of seals mccullogh29, last week I bought a Floriography, brought it home opened it and it appeared to have been "tested" in store. It wasnt half empty or anything but it would have been embarrassing to give as a gift so I've learnt my lesson and will be taking a peek inside the boxes from now on.
Just to point out you can take things back to Poundland, though it seems to be at the discretion of the manager if you don't have the receipt.

One time, for me, was nappy rash cream that visibly had someone's fingers* in it (you could tell it was a while back as the cream around it had hardened)! And after buying one of their Chit Chat chubby sticks in the wrong colour, still in the wrapper (mum didn't like the shade, and can't get to Poundland).

It helps that I have Poundlands near me though and can go back quickly if there's problems. I have seen people in Poundland regularly using deodorants, opening packages to "test" things (I blimmin' hate that, so rude). So maybe best to check everything is intact before you buy if you can.

Oh, and I forgot: I also took back these Signalex 3.5mm phone speakers. http://img.swapit.co.uk/00/01/61/24/1612435_2.jpg The pack I got was without headphones. Absolutely useless. The phone's speaker was louder! A mate of mine was laughing at me when I asked for a refund, but all those £s add up (and I am a regular customer anyway)!

    *Not real fingers, of course

I took back WINDSCREEN WIPERS :rotfl:

Bought them the day before MOT was due, existing ones had lost a bit of blade edge (torn off when frozen to ice), so needed new ones.

    FAILED the MOT

"Fortunately" NOT JUST on the wipers.

One of them cleared OK on the "up" stroke but smeared on the "down" stroke, so took them off and took them back

Got a "proper" pair from somewhere else

I haven't found it in two fairly large stores either- whereabouts is it?!
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
  • And has anyone seen the gooseberry, tayberry or blackcurrant bushes? They've been listed on the website for ages but I've only found redcurrants, raspberries and blueberries. Am intending to have a berry paradise in the garden this year :rotfl:

    Nottingham Poundland has
    Royal Doulton cereal bowls,
    Posh Wash in Cherry,
    Radox Smoothie shower gel.,
MAYBELLINE NEW YORK INTENSIVE REPAIR & CARE HAND CREAM
    Sally Hansen effects nail strips
Have not found the nail stamping kit or floriography hand cream :(

I have 4 stores all quite close to me, I've found it in three but not the fourth newest one. In the other three stores it is always in the same place. In my stores in the toiletries section there is a space on the wall where you will find bags hanging pre-packed with make up bits and bobs. Examples would be tweezers, compact mirrors, nail varnishes, all the chit chat stuff etc. Underneath this there are two shelves and that is where they usually are directly under the make up on the first shelf. Hope this helps.

I always wonder if managers get a say in what their store stocks or is it just whatever HQ sends.

Thanks to the OP who mentioned the cherry Posh Wash, will have to have a look for it next time I am in, I'm assuming it is this cherry blossom one - http://www.npw.co.uk/product/NP0177/Posh-Wash---Cherry-Blossom-Bath-&-Shower-Gel Good stocking stuffers or little thank you gifts :)
