I think it was probably a different poster....but the post has now been removed.

I didn't realise you could do that at Grainger....thats a good tip

    Thanks
  • Hi Jo,
Sorry I wasn't around when you needed the support, and I am so glad to hear that you're back on track!
DH and I have a system to pay back our debt, but we also have several (!) emergency funds - we keep them separate so we don't use them. We have a car fund in one account for if anything goes wrong with the car; and a 'Christmas/birthdays' fund, as I am terrible for forgetting people's birthdays and then needing to run out and buy a pressie.

We want to pay off our debt as quickly as we can, but as you know, it's horrible being left with no money to last the month so definatley worth being strict with yourself and having an emergency fund .. but aiming for not having to use it ;-)

What about taking anything back that you've bought recently that you haven't used/worn and still have the receipt for? You could always re-buy it when you're a bit more flush?

    Ironing for cash?

Will have a think to see if I can come up with anything else
    Good luck

I just wanted to update you all. As you were so very supportive to me. £4 left and 4 days to go (as i am sorted for sat and sun)/ tossing down with rain here so car boot been canceled. But Ive come this far i can do 4 days. I mean that £1 per day, wooooo hooooo thats rich compared to last week. I have seen threads, posts and Sig's about no spend days, and have never joined in any of them. As i though I could never do it. Well i was soooooo wrong. its just amazing what you can do when you have too. this week has taught me so much. It has made me realize actually how much money I do waste. We have not starved or ran out of petrol.

Once again thankyou all for your fabulous support. i will update again in the week

Well done Jo it seems to me that you are learning a whole lot of things, not just about being debt free, not overspending/overearting, but also about yourself, and what you can REALLY do if put your mind to it.
