or on gumtree........ free adds there too i believe.

Do you have any unwanted pressies/clothes with labels packaging that you could return?

Better still with receipts? to get money back?

Or games to sell at gaming shops? i think they give instant cash don't they?

Or cash converters type shops... if it's for something you're not using, might as well get something for it. but won't reflect the value......

    hope things improve... keep posting!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

  • come on Jo getting worried, Cash converters is a good idea?

Cash Converters is great for quick cash. I sold a gold bracelet (£40), a computer monitor (£40), some hi-fi separates (£5-£10 each) and hundreds of CDs at 30p each. It's no less than you'd get on Ebay and much less hassle.

Cash Converters may be a pawnbroker but they have service levels and are honest and respectable.

If i was totally desperate which i have been back instudent days I would cash a 50cheque until pay day, downside is its a kind of debt and they take a small cut depending on who you use.

Have been in cashless situation recently as work failed to pay me, luckily was my birthday last month and had 25quid m&s gift card so brought food we needed in m&s simply food.

Other than that trying to raise cash myself latly by

    doing surveys
    carboots
    ebaying

Am going to try free bingo.

It might be worth going along to gala or mecca on free bingo days as you can get the cash instantly.

Anything online takes a while to convert sometimes.

Have u much food in freezer or cupboards you can get by on.
definatly go just b4 close for reduced bargains
have u checked every handbag, coat or down sofa for loose change?

There was another post on diffrent mse board about a challange to find money and best places to look ie pub carpark sunday morning ect which made me chuckle.

I did find £15 in work the other month but handed it in and put in safe.
Also the amount of people who leave thier £1 in supermarket trollies is unbelieviable.

    Good luck.

Hiya update, went in the garden with a glass of wine put my fountain on and sat in the flowers and had a bloody good cry. When I stopped crying, I said RIGHT JO get your bloody act together and stop feeling bloody sorry for yourself. You got yourself into this bloody mess and you will get yourself out of it. SO this is what I did

    1. counted my 2s n 1s £3.23
    2. checked through all the rubbish in my purse and found a "hole in the wall card" haven't used for about 3 month, cos empty. Well it wasn't got £11 quid in it :j :j :j :j petrol money wooooo hoooooo
3.checked cupboards, think all i need spend in the next 4 days is about £3.50 (2s n 1s money) will put it in forgotten about account tomorrow and get out £15 :j and thanks to clareabelle I think I have about a fiver on my asda saving card.
    :j :j :j So come friday I still should have my £9.

Thats all I have got up to up to now.

I just LOVE YOU ALL. I feel loads better.

Will update as often as possible, thankyou all again. Never had such a bunch of Fab Mates.

    Jo x

And I can tell you without a doubt, this has taught me a big lesson. OUT OF DEBT I WILL GET. That sounds like a motto i can adopt. I thought I had had my LB moment finding this site but I have just had a bloody big long fluorescent tube moment.

Sorry for the "swearing" but I am just so  annoyed  at myself and happy that I have hit the bottom (well for me anyway). The fact that I have had to tell people my £9 12 day situation and all your fab ideas and support has really done it for me.
